Earlier this week our sweet Mabel passed on into the afterlife. Never have I ever loved a dog so much. A beautiful soul that always did the best she could. She was with me from college, to early touring, to meeting Carley, to getting married, our first house, through pregnancy, and the first year of our twins life. Almost 13 years of love and learning together💜
I can’t think of a possibly more transformative period of someone life to be with them and I’m forever thankful that we were able to be there for each other. She was responsible for so many people getting their own dogs and even gently taming the k9 fears of a few friends. A silent recording studio helper, an intuitive wise emotional mind melder, and a best friend. We will miss her so incredibly much.

Heres to this Italee cowboieee and his record “Riot of the Red” that’s finally out there in the world after a few years of aging well. No one writes a song quite like ol’ Frisina and it was a thrill to dig into these instant classics. In classic Chris fashion he could not sleep for the first handful of days of recording so I resorted physically wearing him out. We dragged him behind a boat on the lake until he was tired deep into his artsy bones. He slept well that night and the whole record just spilled out.
