Apolune — Returning to home base, join us on Thursday 21 May for an evening of contemporary art, drinks, conversation and the chance to celebrate the warmer days together.
Apolune — the point in an orbit farthest from the moon becomes both title and provocation for this group exhibition by members of General Practice. Rooted in ideas of distance, trajectory and return, the exhibition offers a poetic starting point for reflection, experimentation and reorientation.
Following our recent exhibition in London with MEZZANINE @mezzanine_studios , General Practice now brings the show home to Lincoln for a special presentation at our studio space.
The exhibition brings together a range of contemporary and experimental practices including animation, projection, painting, sculpture and mixed media.
Featuring work by Lauren Winter, Nicholas Simpson, Nathan Baxter, Madara Vimba, Andrew Bracey, Rob Britt, Joana Cifre Cerdà and Oliver Ventress, the exhibition reflects a year of shared experimentation, dialogue and exchange within the group.

The joy of a residency is the chance to experiment - see what works and what doesn't - without the pressure of a "show" show. Just put it out there.
@ladexter45 and @rachelolinartist collaborative residency @generalpractice technically closed last weekend BUT if you DM Rachel she might show you around this weekend too 🏃♀️

Many thanks to all who came to the launch of our first publication at the weekend - it was lovely to catch up with friends and colleagues (both ‘old’ and new.)
For those that couldn’t attend, here is a short ‘explainer’ video of the project overall, ahead of our Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund our second publication – Toil & Trouble: How We Find Out Who We Are (Volume II / LAC Gallery)
The exhibition was at Lincoln Arts Centre gallery (February/March 2025)
It featured work by Anna Fairchild as an invited artist. The initial curation and installation of our work was negotiated between Anna, Lucy Renton and Sue Withers, and was then – gloriously – 'disrupted' by Lincoln-based artist collective General Practice [gP].
We are very happy to have @ladexter45@rachelolinartist in the space 😁😁

Had an absolute blast in London this weekend with the @generalpractice crew. Feeling very lucky to have such a brilliant studio family. Our exhibition Apolune at @mezzanine_studios was a real highlight. A big thank you to @anandywilliams for hosting us and for the hospitality.
Apolune, the point in an orbit farthest from the moon, became the starting point for the exhibition. It explored ideas of distance, trajectory and return, bringing together a range of practices including animation, projection, painting, sculpture and mixed media.
It was great seeing the old gang @karolinkadworska@andiacoralandiacoral doing so well. I even managed to grab a photo with my piece, although it does not photograph too well as it is a video, but I am really happy with how it turned out.
It was also great stomping around London visiting galleries, eating good food and catching up along the way. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the show.
Cracking day in London yesterday with the @generalpractice crew.
1-11. Down for Apolune at @mezzanine_studios featuring all new works by @generalpractice artists. I made a new film made with footage from a satellite of space that includes these strange and mysterious coloured flashes that no one can quite explain. (2). Other works in Apolune by 3 @madaravimba 4 @lauren_doesart 5 @nathanrlbaxter 6 @moonshot_mx981 7 @joana_cifrecerda 8 @simpson.nick 9 @ollyventress . Beyond made up that there was a huge Bracey family contingent who represented in force. Massive thanks also to the brilliant @anandywilliams for the invite to show.
12-14. Also got time to visit my favourite London museum @soanemuseum always a pleasure to explore. Also saw 15-117 Veronica Ryan at @whitechapelgallery which was a treasure trove of materiality and process intelligence. 18. Oh and Christina Mackie @goldsmithscca too.
Apolune is open today and Tomorrow -11th April.
