Five FULL days of shooting, running, laughing, chasing light, chasing talent… and two full days later and we’re still sifting, editing, captioning, refining, posting… supplying print and news media… and honestly just reliving festival moments all over again. I didn’t get to go on the JetSki this year- the surf was absolutely pumping so even if we were allowed, James or Ed were going to take that task for the team!
Huge shoutout to our incredible media team who absolutely sent it behind the lens. Long days, tired feet, full memory cards and a whole lot of passion. For people who don’t usually step out from behind the lens, we actually have a fair few media snaps this time around, I guess because Tall Paul
@ikemanmedia loves a good (tall) selfie and
@lindiekolver has a knock for sneaky shots;)
Somewhere along the way, words like huzzah, rippin’, gnarly shredding and sending it have firmly entered our vocab… and my kids have already decided they’re ‘hundo percent entering next year’. They’ve since helped sift through results and footage as they remembered each and every surfer and skater - which is coming in very handy collating the results with the content for each post.
There’s something about the Ride the Wave crew… the athletes, the judges, the announcer #goldentonsil, the comp directors, the volunteers… It’s the vibe of the thing really. Laid back, welcoming, just a really good crew to be around. Thanks for having us Erin and Rob

More to come… still digging through the gold that is RTW!
