Three years ago I started working with the @bondibrothers — a few sessions together and a trip up to the Sunny Coast. Hugo was 12, frothing, ready to learn.
A few days ago he just took out the @surfboardempire Narrabeen Ripper — 10,000 points, Under 16s 🏆
Watching Hugo go from a nervous grom with emotion running his heats to a silent assassin with a lethal backhand attack has been something else. The heat prep, the willingness to do every session and then some — that’s what’s turned him into the beast he is today.
But none of it happens without the foundation at home.
Des and Ruud — you two are the real MVPs. The early starts, the long drives, the late nights, the belief every step of the way. Coaches can guide a kid in the right direction, but parents shape who they become out of it.
And Brynn and Tymen — the two funniest groms going around who also absolutely rip. You’ve pushed him every step.
You’ve raised an absolute gun, and the way you back him is what makes all of this possible.
