For @theworldofinteriors , I photographed the home of a tapestry-weaver and former English teacher who has created a suite of richly layered rooms in the Australian capital, Canberra.
With Sibelius playing over some lovely vintage Quad speakers, we talked about Tanizaki and the local birdlife that visit the house. A perfect morning, really.

I’ve been making portraits along Smith Street for almost a year, reflecting on the end of an era in Collingwood. Not sure what this work is yet, but it’s been fun printing these up.

My daughter turns five. She makes little sculptures from her toys and hides them around the house for me to find.
I quietly photograph them before she takes them apart again.
I spend all day looking at other people, in places built for other people, or travelling somewhere I’ve not been before.
When I return home, she asks me how was your day daddy?
A moment, then I say it was good. She says dad you’re really good at taking pictures. I say thanks darling, hug her and read a story about a dinosaur that’s learning how to make friends.
Five’s pretty great.
