Had an amazing night at DUMBO House hosting another Cheat Codes lifestyle conversation. This session featured two fashion powerhouses: @edvinthompson , founder and designer of @theophilio , and @blkwd1017 , founder of @brandonblackwoodnyc . Both of these creatives have accomplished so much in the fashion space while continuing to push boundaries and elevate the culture. One of the biggest takeaways I wanted members of DUMBO House to leave with was understanding how to build a brand from scratch and turn an idea into something impactful. What made this conversation even more inspiring is that both of them built their respective brands independently, without investors, and have stayed committed to their vision for over 10 years. Had the pleasure of hosting another session of Cheat Codes: Lifestyle Moderation with the “coolest girl ever,” the one and only @vashtie . When I first came up with this concept, it was always about giving out free game and sharing real, strategic insight for creatives navigating their own paths. Sitting down with VA$HTIE, the conversation naturally centered around longevity, balance, and evolving within the creative space without losing your identity. From directing culturally defining music videos like “ADHD” by Kendrick Lamar and “Waves” by Joey Bada$$, to becoming the first woman ever to collaborate with Jordan Brand on her own sneaker—the iconic Air Jordan II Retro “Violette,” a premium lifestyle basketball sneaker that merged high fashion with streetwear, originally released in October 2010—VA$HTIE has continuously broken barriers. Add in her impact as a powerhouse DJ and cultural tastemaker, and it’s clear she’s built a legacy rooted in authenticity and evolution. She’s someone who has truly done it all while standing the test of time. Thanks to everyone who came to the first Cheat Codes: Lifestyle Moderation session. I pitched the idea to @sohohouse to curate a space where members have something meaningful to take away from the experience. This series is centered around strategy, balance, and fully dissecting the stories of influential people across different avenues in the creative field. For this session, I had the opportunity to sit down with @daveedbaptiste . Daveed is a multidisciplinary maker working in fashion design, photography, and textiles. His migration from Haiti to America inspires all of his work. As an immigrant and queer person, his work examines the multidimensional identities of the Caribbean diaspora living in the United States. Coming off Fashion Week and winning the 2025 @cfda Empowerment Award, and now collaborating with @harlemsfashionrow x @gap , I was determined to fully dissect the story of his incredible journey — and he’s only been doing this for six short years. This was so amazing. Thank you to the familiar faces who came and witnessed it, and I’m equally blessed to have seen so many new faces as well.
