Week 28 ā Road Atlanta.
This weekend didnāt end the way I wanted, but Iām grateful for where we are.
The backup engine let go after laying down a 1:27.1, which still put the car on the podium in P3 at Gridlife Road Atlanta. We were chasing more, and there was definitely much more left in both the car and driver.
But for me, this is more than a trophy.
On Wednesday, the day before leaving for Atlanta, I told my father I was going to win a trophy for him. Early the next morning, after a short battle with cancer, he passed away. I was with him when it happened.
After trying to process everything for a couple hours, I went home, slept briefly, packed the trailer, and left for Road Atlanta.
So this one is for you, Dad.
The last few weeks have been a blur of hospital visits, late nights in the shop, dyno sessions, loading trailers, and trying to keep my head on straight while life hit hard.
And somehow, we still ended up on the podium.
Huge thank you to everyone who helped get this thing to the track:
@gormanperformanceengineering
@louis_gigliotti
@fairclothcomposites
@6xdgearbox
@aci_dynamix
@trackdaytire
and everyone else behind the scenes.
Weāll regroup, get the
@borowski engine installed, and be back soon.
