Human Movement - 50/50 Out Now
We don’t do many albums at Gallery, so when we do they are very special days. But today is extra special as it not just about the music, it’s about the person. Eddy is an artist who wears his heart on his sleeve, and his heart is fucken massive. He is a staunch advocate for ending the genocide and war happening in Palestine and his second home in Lebanon. His voice and his music work in tandem as a weapon for positivity and change. In a world where blocking out the noise is a privilege, what could be anger becomes compassion and hate becomes love.
50/50 features vocal samples from his family in Lebanon in conversation from the last few years whilst at war. At the most volatile time, they are messages of love, humour and longing for family and community. They act as a metaphor for the way Eddy brings change to peoples lives, even if he doesn’t do it intentionally, his natural response to despair is to share his love with others. For that, we are so grateful.
The album is incredible, music that moves you, whilst also making you move. An album for DJ’s and dancers. Available now on vinyl, digital and streaming platforms. We have a new ‘Dancing For Liberation’ tee and his tour kicks off next week. Show him some love and support however you can, as artists like this one are as rare as it gets. Congrats @human_movement
