The much favoured chill chess club night is back next Thursday the 14th of May! There’ll be games going from 7pm-11pm at our house and home @runnerup.rooftop 🥰

Echo Systems is a new party series by Maria Gallo aka DJ Possum ...ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ, exploring the edges of sound and cosmic spaces. The series soft launches at Runner Up Rooftop on Sunday 17th May, taking things from day into the afterglow.
@djpossum_ & @grids.rze have been orbiting this idea for a while; both adventurous selectors meeting somewhere between late 90s & 2000s tech house, deeper downtempo, ambient trance, and the softer, slower corners in between.
Expect a slow lift-off and a gentle drift… it’s one for the heads and the horizon.

One night a month, we’ll be taking over Runner Up to host our dating events.
This collab was a no brainer for us. We’ve been having events at Runner for over a year now, and from the very beginning they have offered us a lot of support and encouragement. It’s also an incredibly sexy venue!
Each month we’ll be rotating through different age groups and demos, starting off with a queer event for lesbians & wlw (ages 25-35).

Radio Brazil is an event celebrating the rich rhythms that define Brazilian culture through music, curated by Melbourne-based DJs Graciela Sann and WALLA C.
The event brings together a vibrant selection of sounds, from traditional styles to timeless classics, taking you on an eclectic journey through genres like Samba, Bossa Nova, Funk, MPB, and urban Latin beats.

This month’s featured artist is @empty.deejay 🎶
His top record pick? Nat I Århus (test pressing) from Danish label Regelbau. A super personal one for him, shaped by time spent in Århus and the community there. The hand drawn sleeve by friends makes it even more special, bringing back long days in the June sun and the spirit of the 8000.
The standout track? Hard to choose when every cut hits, but “Sunrise Sunset” stands out, a collaboration from the whole Regelbau crew. It really captures that Århus house feeling. Feels like a full dancefloor and a big smile moment.
As a record collector, radio presenter, and DJ, Empty DJ also runs an archival blog focused on uploading records that are not online. He is drawn to overlooked and hard to find releases, often digging through record shops or deep on Discogs. It all started with Chicago records on labels like Trax and Dance Mania, worn recycled vinyl cuts that still carry a strong piece of dancefloor history.
