Second @catalinaclassicpaddleboardrace in the books. Stoked on a top 10 finish, ended up 8th overall. A lot to take away from this one but most importantly, a lot of people to thank.
@captwooden for taking the time off work to come escort, @dahinge@dembospice for the escort support, @jenny_lynch15 for putting up with constant early mornings and talking her ear off about me moving my arms back and forth for extended periods of time in the water, @julianasiell for the hospitality in Avalon, @maie614@erichinge@lisan5427 and Katherine for coming to the finish. @tristan_sully@jdiasparra for being great paddle buddies, and our dog Chancho Mike for being the good dog he is. Time for more running, Chancho. Oh and thanks to everyone who dropped me because it keeps the fire lit!
Pretty sure that’s a huge fin whale we saw on the way out, any whale experts?
Post more, think less. Another one from a few months back with @arcboats . @zackespi coming in as the trooper of all troopers and surfing all day long..

Stoked to start off the year with a fun project in the home zone! Always a good time collaborating with friends. Thanks to @tristan_sully and @daysoff92 for being a part of it and the entire team at @lindsurf for making it happen.
Enjoy my 1 minute directors cut!
First @catalinaclassicpaddleboardrace in the books! I’ve been wanting to complete a crossing for years but never really committed to a season of paddling until this year. Finished the paddle rocking number 151 in 5hrs 33 mins in pretty amazing conditions. Ended up 11th overall. I really wanted the top 10 but missed it by 25 seconds after battling it out for miles.
32 Miles of unknown during the race and leading up to the race. Threw up at mile 8 from a funky breakfast and probably nerves. Getting covid a month out, blown turbos on the escort boat the week of, travel, etc. Starting to realize there’s never a perfect lead up to any event for anyone but you just have to do what you can. Thanks to the entire support crew and for helping out the entire race.
@dahinge for introducing me to the sport (see last photo), @captwooden for escorting and getting the boat prepped, @dembospice for being on the camera duties, @jenny_lynch15 for bottle changes, and @maie614 for driving up and welcoming me into the finish line. Everyone did all that and more. Congrats to @tristan_sully on a podium and pushing me on those long training paddles.
I’ll be back!
