The FIRST copy of my new book has arrived!!! It is beyond exciting to see it in real life and to hold it in my hands! Sperm whales are amongst the most remarkable mothers of any animals on the planet! The female whales stay together their entire lives taking care of one another and their young, sharing responsibilities and teaching their young. It is incredible to witness and even better when I get to do it alongside my mom!

Emerging after an incredible Earth Week spent at EarthX in Dallas, a gathering of thought leaders across disciplines all working to protect our precious planet. I was stoked to share the stage with some incredible colleagues and be interviewed for EarthX TV by my dear friend and badass human, Tracy Fanara (@inspectorplanet ). Explorers Club Annual Dinner requisite post…for the first time in 10 years, I did not make a dress. It’s been that kind of year, black felt more appropriate with a greek goddess vibe as a nod to the theme of “Odyssey.” I did however make a fabulous pair of fossil shark teeth gloves in collaboration with the megalodon queen, Jennifer Arnold (2nd photo) The weekend was a blast, wonderful to catch up with friends from near and far! I took only a few photos, but these capture the much needed good vibes and inspiration! Wonderful things on the horizon!

Long Island marine scientist and filmmaker Gaelin Rosenwaks, featured in @outsidemagazine , is one of the rare few to have filmed menhaden schools underwater. She has witnessed how this one small fish fuels everything from migrating whales to bluefin tuna to the #stripedbass she avidly pursues as an angler. But she's also seen nearshore marine life recently diminish due to declining coastal menhaden populations.
