The route felt like I was in book where each passing kilometer unfolded a chapter revealing a different landscape and introducing new characters along the way ☮️
I could say it is the most scenic and diverse routes I’ve ever ran on. A perfect loop to explore Sagada’s wild side🫀

~ also known as “Killer Trail” for it’s strenuous steep assaults through a scenic pine and mossy forest. We reached the peak before the break of dawn and were rewarded by an incredible sea of clouds as we await the sun to rise.

~ capped off the year with a solo hike in Mt. Kabunian located in Benguet. It is known for its steep ascents and open ridges which made the panoramic views of Cordillera utterly rewarding.

~ I asked AI what’s the most humane way it can describe running an ultra:
“You learn that you can be uncomfortable, uncertain, and exhausted… and still keep going. Not because you’re tough, but because you’re human.”
~ The first 40kms were still fun and tolerable, but as soon as the final VK started, it was all mental. I can still hear myself cursing the loose, sandy downhill. It was a sheer test of grit and determination.

DAY 01
~ a year of anticipation, months of preparation and a day to explore the heights and limits. ⛰️
A quick shakeout hosted by @elunion then headed straight to race village to get our race kits and setup camp. after dinner, had a gin tonic or two mixed by @sagadacellardoor -thank you, Andrew!
Last minute triple check on the gear before laying in the inflatable mattress that deflated by the hour. 😀
