🌼 Primroses are a cheerful sign of spring!
🌳 Did you know that the Primrose is an ancient-woodland-indicator plant? They can be spotted rooted in the walls on Penryn campus, which was formerly the Tremough estate. They are a sign that you are passing through a rare and special habitat.
🦋 Primroses are one of the first woodland blooms and an important nectar source for butterflies. Found in woods, at the base of hedgerows and in grasslands, they can bloom as early as late December and flower until May.
💛 In mythology and symbolism, primroses are known to represent eternal love. And in Irish folklore, primroses in the doorway protected the home from fairies 🧚

HEDGEHOG RESCUE! The team found this little one out in the day with an injured eye. As hedgehogs are nocturnal (active at night), seeing one out in the day can be a sign that it has been disturbed or is in trouble. Comment 🦔 to thank Head Gardener Toby for taking our friend to the rescue center!
