How satisfying is this forest transformation?
Throwback to this before-and-after from @institutoipe in Brazil, where we’re supporting the restoration of the Atlantic Forest.
26,000 trees are growing 🌳 and animals are moving through the forest again.
Thanks for being part of it đź’š

Europe is facing another deadly heatwave.
In 2024 alone, 175,000 people in Europe lost their lives to heat-related causes (source: UN).
As cities heat up, streets lined with trees can be up to *12°C* cooler than those without — providing shade, cleaner air, and a home for biodiversity 🌳
Despite this, tree-free concrete jungles have become the norm, especially in lower-income neighborhoods.
🌿 Is your city keeping people safe, or leaving them to overheat?

Now THIS is climate hope 🌱
In Romania’s Carpathian Mountains, years of farming and grazing pushed wildlife away from parts of the landscape.
So together with Transylmagica, we’re bringing native forests back – and the animals are already returning 💚
Every search with Ecosia helps fund projects like this one – download the app and help us restore more habitats.

This forest in Portugal has no single owner. That's why it can recover 🌲
We're supporting a new reforestation project in Verdelhos, an area affected by wildfires.
Together with our local partner @geotambiente , we're planting 50,000 native trees: sweet chestnut and wild pine, species that are better adapted to fires đź’Ş
What makes this place different is how it's owned.
The land here is a "baldio": common land, managed collectively by local residents 🤝
They decide together how it's cared for, and profits from the forest stay in the community.
Recovery on private, fragmented land is slow. But here, it can happen at landscape scale.
More from the project soon đź’š
From degraded land to thriving forest đź’š
This was Ecosia’s very first planting site in Brazil. What was once degraded land is now regenerating into a young forest – 17,986 trees planted together with @nature_org .
Proof that your searches can help bring forests back 🌳

Both look green… but only one is a real forest 👀
This land used to be a palm oil plantation. Today, it’s a thriving forest.
15,240 trees planted in partnership with FKL 🌳 And we let nature do the rest.
In just over a decade, the landscape recovered.

Meet Hassam. He’s been farming this land in Kamonyi District, Rwanda, since 1996.
He grows bananas, beans and maize — and since 2021, has been planting trees across his farm with support from @oneacrefund and Ecosia. Over time, they’ve improved his soil and helped increase his harvests 🌱
More reliable yields mean more dependable income. Hassam invests that in goats — building security for his family and strengthening his livelihood.
He’s one of hundreds of thousands of farmers in Rwanda planting trees each year, funded by Ecosia. Together, they’re reshaping Rwanda’s farmland at scale.
A farm that works better, year after year — made possible by your internet searches 💚

🌳 One man in Brazil set out to restore Brazil’s Atlantic Forest, planting 10,000 trees
🌳 Indonesia restores rainforests without planting a single seed—removing illegal palms and using seeds and roots already in the soil to allow new growth… wildlife has already returned!!Â
🌍 With peoples free web searches on @Ecosia , they’ve planted 250 million trees—the largest planter of native trees. 👏 To more companies improving our world ❤️
