It’s here! We’re stoked to announce the official launch of Futureswellʻs Ocean Creator Coalition, a collective of ocean leaders already igniting inspiration, action, and mobilization for planet ocean through impact-driven storytelling. 🌊
Together, these leaders have come together to uplift ocean solutions, because they are the ones bringing them to life in their own way. Rooted in a shared vision to scale the ocean climate movement to the masses, this coalition marks the beginning of bridging all of our respective communities to drive real progress for the ocean.
In coming weeks, we will be introducing you to each of the inaugral members, all of which are serving the ocean and their communities with critical solutions 🩵

It’s time for a change. Iceland: stop whaling. Here’s how you can help 👇
Iceland has already set a quote for the slaughter of 150 endangered fin whales this whaling season, but we have the opportunity to stop whaling for good. 🐋⛏️
The Iceland Parliament is looking to pass a law later this year that would stop whaling, forever. But this year’s whales are still on the chopping block. 🏛️😵🪦
Send emails through @chilli in my link in bio to the US-Iceland Embassies to let them know that we oppose whaling and we will boycott visiting until they stop. 🇺🇸🇮🇸
Our whale friends are counting on youuuuu 🐳🐋🐳
Endangered Species Day 🐋 🦭
This year Endangered Species Day is a reminder of what’s at stake – and how species protections that allow wildlife to recover can be taken away for political gain and power.
Join @endangeredspeciescoalition by raising your voice for the most vulnerable on planet ocean while we can, and defending the Gulf ocean so the Endangered Species Act can do what it was meant to: save animals and our ocean.

Flashback to the 6th Annual European Wool Exchange Conference in Tralee @irish_grown_wool_council_@fibreshed_ireland@ewe_foundation__
At the time, I didn’t fully realize it, but this was one of the moments my MSc dissertation at University of Galway quietly began taking shape.
I was already in Tralee for coastal resilience fieldwork and workshops through the university when I found myself surrounded by conversations on Irish wool systems, circular economies, natural fibres, sustainability, and environmental resilience.
Looking back now, so many of the stakeholders, ideas, and research directions shaping my dissertation started here.
Research really does grow through unexpected intersections.
Huge appreciation to the Irish Grown Wool Council and everyone involved in the conference for creating spaces where these conversations and connections can happen!
And grateful to Frances Fahy for continuing to help guide this evolving research journey. @universityofgalway@geographyuniversityofgalway

This needs to end in 2026 and more people must know about this 👊🏽 🐟
Forced labor at sea is tied to IUU fishing, and our seafood could be unknowingly connected to it. But there ARE solutions available now, whether it be traceability standards, funding for programs, access to internet for workers, and so much more.
Thank you to the fishers who shared their stories, the coalition that organized the gathering, and the lawmakers that joined to learn more.
Vessel strikes 🛥️are one of the leading causes of death for North Atlantic right whales, and NOAA is considering removing the rule that asks boats to slow down during certain times of the year. Vessel strikes are accidental and tragic for everyone involved, but we cannot accept them as the norm.
Right now, you have a chance to speak up and help protect them. Take it. Comment Save Right Whales and we'll send you the link to submit your comments. Tell NOAA that the vessel speed rule is a necessity to protecting this endangered species. We only have until June 2nd.
Calling all ocean advocates! 🌊

PADDLE OUT TO PROTECT OUR COAST 🏄🏼♀️
California’s coast is at risk of new offshore oil drilling and we will not stand for it.
🏝️ The risk of an oil spill is too great for our environment.

We need more of us talking about IUU fishing 🎣
That’s why @futureswell and @oceanswarrior joined a legislative briefing yesterday in DC with the IUU and Labor Rights Coalition to help educate decision makers on the issue, and the ways forward.
Because their stories matter.
Fishers like Resi, Rizky, and Adrian came all the way from Indonesia to share their lived experiences in the sector – exposing conditions we cannot begin to comprehend.
The ocean MUST be a safe place to make a living. Share and amplify so others can learn, too.
