Queer prom 2026! 🌈🪩
It has been an honour to bring this inclusive, celebratory, and community based event to life with so many local contributors (tagged in the comments, grateful for you all!).
In collaboration with the Trans Day of Visibility gallery hosted by @theradiatorcollective , Queer Prom was such a dreamy party fundraiser! We raised $1200 for the queer youth drop-in at the Picton branch at @peclibrary .
A huge thank you to you all for bringing this vision to light!

So I heard you had questions about Queer Prom! Here are all the juicy details.
We are hosting an all inclusive prom and hope you get to show up as your authentic self. This is all ages event! Whether you’re eight or eighty there is a place for you here.
One hundred percent of the proceeds (tickets included) are going to local Prince Edward County 2SLGBTQIA organizations and groups.
So basically you get to dance and party before we all get busy during the summer while also giving back to your community! It’s a win-win.
A huge thank you to anyone who has volunteered time, donated products or helped organize! We couldn’t have done this without you ❤️
RSVP with a ticket! Sliding scale tickets are available as well. Scan the QR code or Google “Queer Prom Picton” for the link.
See you there (yes you!)
Join us on Sunday March 29, 2026 for the opening night of the “Trans Day of Visibility: Rest & Resistance” Art Show! As trans rights continue to be eroded across the world, it is more important than ever to highlight trans artists in our community and give them a platform to express their joy, their struggle, and their resilience. 🏳️⚧️✊🏼💖
The opening starts at 6 pm at the Proudest Pony PEC and will feature a performance by Vi Woo and Ashley Brewsmith.
In solidarity with our disabled & immunocompromised community in PEC and beyond, masking 😷💛 is strongly encouraged. Masks will be provided at the door for those without a mask.
Say hi to Vi @functionallyvi ! Vi is a musician (violinist, piano, arranger) and accessibility specialist. They have a bachelors of music from McGill and digital accessibility specialization from Mohawk College. Their work focuses on bringing music and art in an accessible and comfortable format.
Vi is often seen in the quinte west volunteering or organizing. They co-host a sing-along in Belleville and recently collaborated with Common Grounds and the County Arts Lab to facilitate a drop in jam session in the Picton Farmers market. They are an avid knitter/crocheter and are often pondering about multi-modal art and community building.
Want to hear Vi in action? They'll be playing for @quintissimomusic at @slakebrewing for Choir Social this Saturday Feb 7th!
The county chamber collective is a group of musicians in the Quinte area who play accessible small ensemble music of many genres.
This year we are hosting our first annual retreat where local musicians will come together for 4 days for the love of music. The CCC also plays many concerts of different styles and settings through the year, and is available to play for weddings and other events on request.

There will be amazing music from local musicians and all proceeds go directly to supporting the participation of musicians in the retreat. Please spread the word :)
