A few pictures from our last Sample Challenge and the beautiful listening session at Nickâs Studio. It was also very nice to see new artists joining the event. Congrats everyone for producing such lovely tracks.
If youâre interested in participating, we have launched the Sample Challenge #15 with a recording of a Train in Bangalore. The only rule to participate is to use the sample in a track and share your song before the deadline. The next listening session will be on December 13.

From 6 pm, you will be able to try the delicious veggie lasagnas cooked by the talented @petersum .
@gautier.rq and @privatepublique will play their favorite records, then @nonfunctionalharmony will play a modular live performance, and @arlotomecek will play an ambient synth live.

Over a year ago I've joined @fullorchestra , a community of musicians based in Berlin. Every two months, we all compose songs using the same sample. Then, we meet to listen to our compositions and share feedback. The only rule to participate is to use the sample in a composition and share it on the website. I really enjoy these challenges because it stimulates creativity by forcing me to use sounds that I probably never would have thought of otherwise. The listening sessions are also a great place to meet likeminded artists and support each other with constructive feedback. The sample of the month is a recording from an old cash register making all kinds of mechanical noises and beep sounds. All sounds that can be heard in the track are taken from the original sound material with more or less processing. Don't hesitate to join us for the next listening session at @unkompress on Sunday, April 27th!

The deadline for sharing our compositions helps us finally finish our tracks and share our music with others.
You can download the full sample on the website and start composing your track with it. You have until February 21 to share your composition online.
After you share your composition, we will invite you to join the listening session with the other members.
