We’ve interviewed some incredible people over the years, not just musicians and this is an excerpt from a chat we had with an incredible human being - Satish Kumar. Satish is one of those rare humans who seems to live exactly what he speaks. A former Jain monk, lifelong peace activist, editor of Resurgence & Ecologist, and gentle radical, he walked 8000 miles from India to the capitals of the west for nuclear disarmament. His education programs are a reminder that soil, soul, society and spirit are inseparable and he’s still fighting the good fight at 89 years young. We always try to include ideas and words of wisdom from people who expand our minds and then present it with dope graphics from the legends @beej___ and @thomasbusterherring whose GFX are fundamental to our identity.. Working with artists we love is a privilege and @reza.hasni someone we were buzzing to feature - his work is sick. His psychedelic, joyous tapestries lit up series5. Go check his insta. Music: Diana Ross , it's my house (An afters kitchen classic) Djrum- Mountains Pt 1 Pedestrian Pirate Radio snippet (Think herring chose this one and it slaps)

@levelzmcr performing Worship in Manchester for series 2. @jeremyncole went to Manny for a few days with @lewislevi and @alexandtherest to shoot with Levelz and came back with one of our favourite ever live performances for FTTF. They had power issues at the location and ended up being a mad late one. The baggy funk of the band, mic tekkers of the MC's , Fox's booming soulful vocals, and just effortless swag of the whole performance is a sound and vibe that could only come out of the UK, and more specifically Manchester. Living proof of what can be achieved by a group of amazingly talented individuals with a shared mindset and belief in each other's collective talents. Just a fu*king vibe. Shout out to @boutube on the edit Go checkout the collectives solo projects too. @blackjosh616 @tumarnigresham @skittlesuk @chimpomcr @mcrchunky @dubphizix @metrodomeuk @wallianape @sparkzmcr @fox_shiddleywoi

We’ve been getting our house in order over the past few weeks. Doing it from scratch. Independently. There’s a lot ahead. But most of what really matters still starts small. Someone shares an idea. A few people back it. Things get made with whatever’s around. That’s usually the moment when outside pressures start creeping in — to speed it up, clean it up, or claim it. We’re more interested in keeping things rooted where they begin. Supporting and collaborating with people doing it themselves — an animation, a piece of music, an idea for a documentary. Anything that helps someone leave a mark on this world and its culture, and keeps creativity with the people who are actually making it. Protect Creativity 🖖 ( Shout out to @kwake.bass checking acoustics in the woods )

We’re going to be doing loads of live music bits over the next few months, not just filming, but putting on live events at our home @portico.studios too There is so much good music out there at the moment - interested to know who you think we should be filming with? Before we get cracking with new stuff we wanted to nod to some of the dope artists and performances we have shot over the years - all of these ones were shot for series one waaaaay back in 2014. We had no idea what we were making until we started making it really, we were approached by Channel4 to fill a hole in the late night telly schedule, we only had six weeks to film everything so we just went for it. 1 Little Simz ‘Age 101’ @jeremyncole linked up with @franklindop on the steady for the one shot of Simz round her area and at the house all the Space guys used to record at. The shot of her on the bike is still one of the best music show openings ever (in our opinion). Been super proud watching her journey as an artist - and been a joy seeing the incredible work @jeremyncole and @greymarco consistently put out with @yout.work - best in the business. 2. Etta Bond ‘Feels Like’ Jeremy also had a brilliant relationship with Etta and they made some great films together. Remember this being a proper late night one, Jeremy probably shot this himself I think on the trusty GH4 - we were gassed because we thought everything looked like it was shot on an Arri 😂 Think Jeremy probably edited this one too. Oh yeah, and channel four flipped because she was smoking a joint. What a voice. 3.Joey Badass ‘Big Dusty’ The first performance we ever shot for FTTF. Can’t remember how this came about but just knew we wanted to shoot some MCs with live drummers. This was the first time we worked with the absolute legend @kwake.bass - we’ve been blessed to work together many times since. @jamie_imaje and @tw__ smashed this one. Panes ‘Dust Becomes’ @nickbam put us on to @__tyson and @shaunsavage_ and we went to their studio to listen to some tunes and ended up shooting this. @jamie_imaje & @budders and the lenses they shot Aliens with apparently… 😎💚🫡✨

Trying to pick the right clip to ‘launch’ FTTF again has been a myth… Wanted to nod to the insane amount of creativity and vibes that went into making this show and there is soooooo much so went for the classic montage. We did 5 x series of this for Channel4 between 2014-2020 - 12.5 hours of music TV. FTTF was always the most insanely talented bunch of film makers, designers and artists - there are too many people to tag everyone who contributed to this reel (I’ve tried) - but you know who you are. It’s mad that this was on telly 😂😂😂 and we were essentially able to do whatever we wanted as it was on late at night and made for f*ck all money so they didn’t really care. But some people did. We did. Always been super proud of the creativity, collective imagination and vibes on this mad little island. We’re bringing FTTF back. Doing it independently. With intention. Building something different. Anyway… We go again… Watch this space! 😎💚✨🙏🏼😶‍🌫️ Holla at us if you want to get involved. Nice one. Special shout to @beej___ @thomasbusterherring @jamie_imaje @shaunjamesgrant @jeremyncole @lamontremy @louismelvintv @jamescinq @sholtss @finztagram___ @nina_neen_ @pieter_filmstills @kezza_brandon @h_a_zman @rob.akin @denike @ehgillett @thristian ben Boullier @julian fletcher @dave_graham @puppydust @reza.hasni @oliviaemesfilms ben sandal @therest @charlie.sarsfield I’ve probably forgotten people. Soz if so. #southlondonmusic #fttf #ukmusic
