In chatting with customers over the last few days, it’s clear that knowing where a product was made is top of mind for all of us. We thought we’d share some insight here, in case some of you were also wondering!
All our olive oils change seasonally, half the year they come from Northern Hemisphere countries like Italy, Spain, Greece, and Portugal. The other half of the year our olive oils come from Southern Hemisphere countries like South Africa, Chile, Peru, and Argentina. Currently, there is no olive oil production in Canada on a commercial scale.
All our balsamic vinegars come from Italy, specifically Modena. For a product to be authentically called “balsamic vinegar”, it must be made in one of two regions of Italy: Modena or Reggio Emilia.
We are also a local, Winnipeg owned and operated family business and not a franchise.
Since our main products (olive oil and balsamic vinegar) cannot be made locally, we do our best to use Canadian or Manitoban suppliers for our other items such as @smakdabmustard ,@_favuzzi ,@provisions_food_company_ , @naturesfarm , @vanislesalt , @saltwest , @lot.ceramics , @kanelspices , @aspiceaffair , @floodwayprintco , @simsohistudio , @youipaper .
