Did you know the man behind Ottawan’s « D.I.S.C.O. » also helped shape @daftpunk ’s sound? Meet Daniel Vangarde (Bangalter) — absolute disco legend, French Touch pioneer, and the ultimate music trailblazer! Daniel played a huge role in shaping the musical taste of his son Tomas Bangalter, one of the founding members of the legendary Daft Punk. Growing up surrounded by music, Thomas watched the process of creating tracks and mastered the art of studio production from an early age. It was this experience that helped him develop a unique understanding of melody, harmony and sound design that became key elements of Daft Punk’s style. ‌ Information about his involvement with Funkytown has not been confirmed, but that doesn't make him any less a legendary producer #DanielVangarde #Disco #DaftPunk

Music Sounds Better With You — Live from Tokyo, 2005! While a certain «remix» (or let’s be honest, a mashup) is currently making the rounds, we wanted to take you back to the source. This is Benjamin Diamond on his first Japan tour, backed by his band, performing a raw take of the anthem everyone knows. The original record was always meant to be a shooting star—a one-off project under the name Stardust (@thomasbangalter , @alan_braxe & @benjamindiamond ) built on a 2-second loop from Chaka Khan’s 1981 track «Fate». After a Rex Club rehearsal, the trio finished the record in just six days at Bangalter’s Daft House. Virgin reportedly offered $3 million for a full album, but Bangalter famously declined, choosing to preserve the project’s mystique as a single-track legend. There is nothing like a funky live version to remind you why this song is a landmark. Hearing the original voice on top of a real, driving groove shows the human side of the French Touch that you just can’t replicate with a plugin. 26 years later, the heritage remains untouched. đŸŽ„ Archive: A film by Pierre Bouchilloux. Taking it back to WMC Miami 2007. Long before the global triumph of the Hyperdrama era, Xavier and Gaspard were already the undisputed kings of the deadpan interview. In this classic clip, DJ Slick catches them in peak form. What makes this gold isn’t just Xavier’s «Christian electro» line, but the way Slick leans into the joke, keeping the trolling energy going from both sides. It’s a masterclass in how to handle music media with a classic French shrug. While their production has reached god-tier cinematic levels in 2026, this raw, ironic energy is still at the heart of everything @etjusticepourtous does. Do you think this irony was a clever defense mechanism or the ultimate branding move? #Justice #Edbanger #frenchtouch

@madeon turned Coachella into a French Touch time machine. đŸ‡«đŸ‡· He dropped over 20 French tracks — rewinding a quarter-century of Paris sound and reminding a whole generation that French Touch never really left. From Daft Punk (One More Time, Aerodynamic, Burnin’, High Life, Revolution 909, Digital Love) to Justice (Genesis, Stress, Safe And Sound, D.A.N.C.E., We Are Your Friends), from Gesaffelstein (Pursuit, Orck, Variations) to SebastiAn, Kavinsky, Brodinski, DJ Mehdi, Modjo, Martin Solveig, The Shoes, The Paradise
he honored them all. We picked just 4 moments to tell the story: đŸ”č Modjo – Lady (2000) — the summer anthem that turned a Parisian groove into a global phenomenon. đŸ”č Daft Punk – Aerodynamic (2001) — the riff that became the blueprint for an entire generation of producers. đŸ”č DJ Mehdi – Signatune / Thomas Bangalter Edit (2002) — the heartbeat of Ed Banger, the architect we lost too soon. đŸ•Żïž đŸ”č Justice vs. Simian – We Are Your Friends (2006) — the riot that proved French Touch could shake the whole world. What Madeon did on that stage isn’t just a performance. It’s a love letter. A fan who became a curator. A producer who became a historian. And through his selection, he reminded everyone that this scene isn’t nostalgia — it’s a living legacy. đŸ•°ïž Which track from his set hit you the hardest? Drop it in the comments 👇 đŸŽ„ Full 2.5-hour set available on @madeon and @coachella official YouTube channels. ________________________________________________ Credits: 🎬 Footage: © Coachella – Official YouTube Channel 🎧 Performance: @madeon 📍 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2025 ✂ Edit & curation: French Touch FM

Mirage – Ballet for 16 Dancers drops June 5 on Erato — an 8-track score for Damien Jalet & Kƍhei Nawa’s 60-minute ballet, inspired by Iannis Xenakis’ sculptural approach to sound. But don’t call it a retreat. Since his Pompidou surprise in October and the Alexandra Palace B2B with Fred again.. in February, the helmet keeps reappearing — Daft Punk classics back in the mix, rumors of new music with Fred Again, and an immersive night with Rampa (Keinemusik) lined up for Art Basel on June 20. Mythologies. Chiroptera. Mirage. Three ballets in four years — while the decks quietly reopen. 👉 One foot in the orchestra pit, one on the decks — the most coherent post-Daft Punk arc in electronic music, or a contradiction about to break? *Via DJ Mag & Pitchfork.

“It was impossible to stand alone behind the decks under the name of something I built with my best friend.” đŸ•ŠïžđŸŽč This week, we headed to the Apple Store Champs-ÉlysĂ©es for an exclusive event: “Conversation with Boombass on the Legacy of Cassius.” As part of @helloapple ’s 50th-anniversary tour—a global celebration of tech and pop culture that started in NYC with Alicia Keys—Paris took center stage with a 100% French Touch takeover. @boombass (Hubert Blanc-Francard) opened up about the deeply personal moment he chose to embrace the @cassius name once again. After 2 years of touring under his own name, grief finally gave way to peace. Deciding to carry the Cassius legacy solo wasn’t a marketing move—it was a need for truth. This inner peace is what eventually led him to the stage of the Paris Paralympic Games closing ceremony, bringing together every generation of French Touch for a moment of pure history. đŸ‡«đŸ‡·âœš The “French Touch” is more than just a sound; it is a living history that continues to evolve. Big up to @yanndulche for capturing this historic moment on the ground for us. đŸŽ„đŸ”„

Bangalter: “We used to pretend to be machines. Now, they pretend to be us.” đŸ€–đŸ‘€ In this definitive conversation with JR for GQ France (released Feb 26, 2026), Thomas Bangalter reflects on the ultimate cultural reversal. For 28 years, he was the human performing as a machine. Today, he watches as machines perform as humans. The Context: This isn’t just an interview; it’s a manifesto for their upcoming collaboration, “La Caverne du Pont Neuf”. Launching June 6, 2026, in Paris, JR has invited Bangalter to “wrap the bridge in sound”—an homage to Christo & Jeanne-Claude’s 1985 masterpiece. Bangalter isn’t making “music” here; he is sculpting acoustic matter. He is moving away from the digital mask to explore the raw, physical, and ephemeral nature of being human in an AI-saturated world.
