Cool photo and memories from the first trip together five and a half years ago when we decided to social distance on the remote rishiri island during the covid outbreak in asia. After one hour of lying on tatami mats and watching japanese commercials on the ferry we got bored and told the captain that we are national geographic journalists. I dont think he understood one word of what we said but we were somehow let on the bridge. Three days of powder and a rainstorm later a good weather window allowed us to ski the west face of rishiri zan from the summit. Not even one turn on soft snow, but that didn’t matter, still one of the most absurd places I have been to. Strange to pack again for a trip you were hoping to join.

No more „yo mofo“, no more helping you with that stupid 360 stick, no more yellow hearts and other important messages pissed on the skintrack, no more calls in the car hearing your stories or eating soft ice cream together. The tears will slowly dry but it still hurts to know that there will never be those moments again. Maybe one day we will laugh again together. Love you brø🖤

Cool day last spring in the right place at the right time and finally skiing via Gianni Comino(Corti-Comino) on Piz Spinas/Palü Occidentale with @g.thal_ . A few years after first seeing it and reading Sebastien De Sainte Maries report on their descent, waiting for enough snow to ski it without using a rope. Documented descents I could find are De Benedetti 1984(thx for the info @_g.a.ne.s.h_ 😉), Mottini 2015, Beeli-Stämpfli 2016 and Favre-De Sainte Marie 2016
