Rigging an Xbox to a camera was a new experience for me. Combined with the Focus Pro, it created an interesting interplay between two lidar systems. I also tried out the new cables from Ignite Digi, and it worked really well. The system struggled a bit with the fog, but in the end, everyone was happy. The only remaining challenge is cable management.
This project was quite new. Sure, it wasn't my first one-take shot, but there were a few things about this script that were special. With so many actors and such a location, we had to work around some camera limitations, but I think we handled them quite well. @blkbrdcine Mantis performed quite well, and I'm very pleased with how well everything worked. @tilta_de Vario ND also impressed me, even though we had a challenging set and a lot of interference.
Thanks for the amazing pictures: @itsnotanexit
With this combo, which we had to put together in a flash, we're in the studio of @the.marmalade // Because of the fast-paced, spontaneous scenes, I also used my CFinder III today. And I've noticed, though, that the LBUS cables I currently have aren't suitable for all scenarios. So it's time for a few more. Even if the optics aren't super sharp, they do have that certain something. I really like that.

If adolescence can do it, we can too. At least a little. But it's very interesting to see how the camera behaves with the lens and additional ND filter. The VariND, controlled here via the Tilta Mirage motor, is absolutely fine in terms of weight, even if it's not as quiet as promised. The battery also drains even without the motor switched on, but oh well, you have to plan for that. The only thing missing now is a good quick-release device for a drone. Maybe next time.
Big thanks to @18frames.rentals and @jakobsuess.dop
This was, as is almost always the case, a pretty interesting project. The fantastic people at @accsoontech sent me the Master 4K a little earlier to test it out. And I have to say I'm pretty impressed. There are a few minor flaws or things in the design that I would like to see changed, BUT that's no reason not to use this System in big productions. The latency was completely OK for me and the reaction from others was definitely OK too. I'll also be testing the range in the next few days and weeks, as well as the app and some PC workflows. But for starters: thumbs up.
It was also nice to see how it all works on the Sony Burano. Of course, I also built my own D-Tap Power cables of different lengths for the next Setups. I'm excited to see when I'll be able to use them to set up my first camera on fire.
But I'm optimistic.
Big Thanks also to @18frames.rentals
Yes, I know, this rig doesn't really meet the expectations you have of a professional rig....BUT since we had to rock this shoot within 48 hours for the Bremen Film Festival, I'm almost... satisfied.
The fact that we had a zoom lens and two motors for the radio focus was a huge stroke of luck, and the Kasbah handles from @brighttangerine were really useful. And the @mutiny.store Modul for the FX30 was a Lifesaver.
The top handle on the camera looks a bit pieced together, and to be honest, it was. Partly made from a Smallrig handle and extension pieces from Tilta that aren't actually sold anymore. It was a fragile construction, and I will put this rig together again in much better quality. Then with a good Cineback for powering this Setup.
Maybe for the next shoot.
A DollyZoom is a really nice visual style. In our test, we tried to automate this zoom in part. We gave the Hand Unit a modified LDS File with which it treats the Zoom Motor as a focus and adjusts it depending on the distance. It was really interesting to see how precise we can get. We used three different Systems. The @focusbug_technologies Focusbug, the CineTape and the @cmotionlcs CFinder III. All Systems have their benefits, but sadly the biggest problem was smoothing out the Motors. All three systems were very precise, but this also led to stutters and troubled Motors. Unfortunately, we have not yet found a satisfactory solution, but this could perhaps be solved at some point by software. Nevertheless, it was just a lot of fun to try this out.
(Cable Management was not included in these Pictures)
Not the best Cable Management, but for the little time I'm still fine with it. Camera Build for the Short "The Drift". Distance Measuring via @cmotionlcs CFinder III
Focus also with CPro+ und CForce with the additional CDistance on my Hand Unit. For this shooting, we decided to send the video by cable instead of Wireless Video Transmission, but sometimes it was a little bit Funny and Challenging to get a Wired Connection. Especially with the moving car scenes. But in the End it worked very well. Thanks and props to @711rent for the Support.
Nikon V-Raptor VV8K mal auf dem Kopf gestellt. Jede Menge Kabel und Stromversorgung war spannend. Zusammen mit dem Motion Control System von @sqr.film und @mrmoco1
