I’m a cinematographer for the same reason that I am a songwriter, I want to tell a story and move people. Creating music videos is a wonderful chance to do just that. Especially so, when the song is truly heartfelt and raw.
@miuofficial and I originally had planned to shoot the performance scenes at a public piano in London, but it ended up not being possible. So we set something up at
@the.marmalade which gave me a lot more control over the lighting, but more so created a truly intimate atmosphere. This tear was not scripted or planned - it was a real moment when
@miuofficial sang her song and forgot about the camera. She continued on and I immediately knew I wanted to keep this in the video, if she would let me.
