The Foxall Studio party is over ⚰️⚰️ but in a very positive way. Clear out the past from a future landscape and you move into that space more easily.
A chair expressed — @andrewjamesfoxall recalls: “We were given a blank white chair to decorate as part of an installation in @theofficialselfridges atrium. It stared at us for weeks, waiting for us to come up with an idea that wasn’t terrible. All the ideas were terrible. Until we started using our hands and playing around in the 11th hour. I had been obsessing about storage solutions for my motorbike and so had bike covers and bungees lying around. @iainfoxall took a bike cover to neighbouring print studio @kategibbprint who let him rip up A4 sheets and turn them into makeshift screens. We sprayed the chair a shade of blue that we were into at the time, and then assembled it with help from @ainsers to create the finished product. Early trust-the-process lessons for us all. Bought by one of the then owners of Selfridges. I hope she passes it every day and that it pushes her to not stop trying new things - a main tenet of Lever Street.”
“Tell us what you really think” — 40 x stamped and addressed envelopes containing blank cards. Handed out to guests at the end of the Lever Street soft launch. An invite of criticism from a circle of kind critics.
