Kicked off my birthday weekend strong on Friday. I finally got the chance to try
@polskalaskapgh and I will absolutely be back. I tried their homemade chowder and their jalapeño cheddar pierogis. I was in absolute shock, both were incredible. The soup was PACKED. The pierogis were like none that I've had before.
Saturday, Zach and I tried
@baconjam110 in McDonald. Not sure why it took us so long to try this place. The waitress talked me into a blackberry vanilla latte. I was a little hesitant because the last time I had a fruity latte it was NOT good. But this, this was delicious. To eat I got their monte cristo. Perfect blend of sweet and savory. The candied bacon on it was beyond unbelievable. Should have known this place was gonna be a new favorite the moment I saw the bendy straw.
For dinner Zach whisked me off the north side
@roccos_ristorante_pgh . What a beautiful home turned boutique hotel. This place was a little out of Zach's comfort zone but I'm glad he picked it. The bread was DELICIOUSLY crusty and soft. Don't let what it looks like scare you off. The pappardelle alla boscaiola (wild mushroom cream, oyster mushroom, crimini mushroom, artichoke and truffle herb oil) was to die for. Absolutely used the second helping of bread we got to scoop up all the leftover sauce.
Made a pit stop after dinner to
@fourpointsbrewing . Then to end it all we went to
@thebakeryanddessertbar_lg in Carnegie. I finished the night strong with their cannoli.
