We were so excited to be part of this genuinely transformative city-shaping project, leading the tactical trial to activate the space through programming and events, engage with locals, visitors and businesses to understand the true potential of this iconic place. 🌊
This is evidence that short-term trials and pop-ups don't only bring vibrancy and increased visitation but help pave the way for significant long term social and economic benefits for a place.

Fourfolders Brooke and Lou joined placemakers from around Australia to explore Port Macquarie on Birpai Country has to offer as a part of @placeleaders Urban Leaders Summit.
This gave us the opportunity to catch-up with likeminded placemakers to discuss emerging trends in the industry and upcoming projects we’re excited about!
Cecil Barnard and Brooke also presented together, sharing the story and key learnings behind the Dalby Cultural Centre / Thomas Jack Park project which won the Place Engagement Award last year!

We’re so excited to reach a pivotal milestone in one of our dream projects, the Surfers Paradise People’s Esplanade Pop-up, with the opening event that brought the crowds on Saturday.
This project explores what happens when you put people at the heart of Surfers Paradise, reshaping part of the Esplanade into a pedestrian-first experience that unlocks new energy, vibrancy and connection along the foreshore.
At Fourfold, we know the power of tactical trials, activations and placemaking in creating these kinds of transformations and the magic that happens when you bring all three together as a lived experience. Ideas often communicated on paper through design are tested in real time, demonstrating what the future of our city’s iconic destinations could look like.
This incredible collaboration with the @cityofgoldcoast and key stakeholders such as local businesses, community groups and event operators has allowed us to co-create the place experience concept. And we’d especially like to thank our brilliant partners A Social Purpose and @relativecreative , whose creativity and commitment have been so important in bringing this project to life.

Today, our two graduate placemakers had the opportunity to tour several of Brisbane's burgeoning social enterprises.
Georgia and David explored the exceptional social impact of work being undertaken by local businesses in providing employment opportunities for at-risk youth, people with disability and others with barriers preventing their ability to gain employment.
It was an inspiring day for our team members who made valuable new connections and unpacked ideas to further our ability to shape meaningful social change.
On Tuesday evening the Fourfold team had the pleasure of attending the QUT Awards of Excellence evening which is always a highlight on the annual calendar. A huge congratulations to @qutpsa for such a successful night, all award winners and to our very own Georgia Bergin for taking home the Thesis Proposal Award for her research into the long-term wellbeing impacts of climate induced relocation. The awards evening is always a wonderful opportunity to shine a light on the innovative and high-quality work being produced at University, and the passionate and professional planners that are emerging.

It was so fantastic to take our members out for a walk around the Newstead/ Teneriffe area to learn from industry (including QUT alumni!) about their team, projects and career progression from student planner to graduate planner and beyond🚀

You might remember Kristie from ‘The Soft Spot’ and Gary, her super sweet, pink, Japanese-inspired ice cream truck from the @_fiteni Botanix Re-Vibed community engagement event at Wellington Point last year. In an interview with ABC Asia, Kristie shares her story about quitting her corporate job to pursue her childhood dream of running her own ice cream van!
