Running full E85 with added port injection and an upgraded low-pressure pump is superior to an E50 blend on stock turbos because it gives the S58 the fuel volume and fueling headroom it needs to exploit ethanol’s knock resistance everywhere in the map—not just in short bursts. Full E85 lets you run more ignition timing and (where the turbos can hold it) a bit more boost while keeping rail pressure stable, injector duty reasonable, and lambda targets consistent. The port injectors offload the direct injectors at high load/low rpm—where DI alone on E50 often runs out of pulse width—so you avoid lean spikes, misfires, and pressure drop. The result is cooler charge temps and EGTs, a larger safe timing window, and far more repeatable torque on back-to-back pulls and in hot weather.
