There’s a specific kind of stuck that’s hard to explain to people who haven’t felt it.
You’re not confused. You’re not lost. You actually know, clearly, specifically, - what the next step is. And something in you just won’t go.
Most people call that resistance. Or fear. Or self-sabotage. And then they try to think their way through it, or push harder, or make another plan.
But what if your body just needs a different signal?
The nervous system doesn’t respond to logic. It responds to cues. And one of the most direct cues it takes is from your eyes - how they’re moving, what they’re scanning for, whether they’re locked in threat focus or soft and open in a safe room.
The technique in this video is called the orienting response. It’s not a hack. It’s how your brainstem determines whether you’re in danger or not. When you move your eyes slowly across your environment, you’re sending a direct signal: through your biology, not your mind, that it’s okay to move forward.

From Jewish summer camp as a kid (no, I’m not Jewish) to grown-up @femalefoundersfund #campfff with some of the most impressive ladies in the game, it’s safe to say I love camp. Thank you to the FFF crew for going above and beyond to create an experience built on uplifting, motivating, and supporting female entrepreneurs, who often times feel fairly siloed and challenged at the top. It was an unforgettable few days with friends old and new who I was humbled to be in the room with.
