#posingwithsticks for @lorena_in_syd in what I’ve decided to refer to as my #stokxstandard shirt from the trusty #stokxevetop with a hacked double collar. The back bias panel and reach sleeve make this style of shirt so freaking practical and comfy.
Wearing red to cheer me on for a tricky task today. Our 14 year old laminex benchtop is being replaced tomorrow so I need to clear the bench top and top layer of drawers/shelves which sounds like less than it is. Why do I have so much stuff!
While we are replacing the benchtop we’ll be saying goodbye to cooking with gas which is bittersweet. I love the drama of lighting the flame, but induction is going to be brilliant I’m told, and much better for us and the environment. I’m also retiring this tea towel that I’ve had for almost as long, and used until it is threadbare. It was screen printed by @sixandahalfstitches and received in a swap organised by @soozmade aeons ago. Sorry to say goodbye to the tea towel but looking forward to the new bench!

Continuing the theme of it being waaay too late in the day to take a decent photo and managing to get only a shot or two without the naked spouse leaping into view (you’re welcome)…. It was hilarious from my side for sure.
Outer layer is the sadly unavailable #maynarddress which is zero waste and so, so good by @elbe_textiles & jeans are well, well, well worn in but still absolute favourites hacked from the #picassopants by @sewingworkshop

Skirt is the @stokxpatterns #stokxflirtskirt - lengthened and more panels than intentioned, but that’s the beauty of this pattern - just cut out more and off you go!
Vest is the V8982 by Mary Tilton and it’s back in my grid in more detail. It’s got great shaping and is a fun one to put together.
I’ve been awol for 2 days, but they were repeat outfits so nothing missed!

Just back from the @scarletjonesmelbourne garage sale where I scored some gorgeous linen and my very own copy of a Nani ito book I’ve been wanting forever!
skirt is a 90’s pattern in a technical fabric which I should wear more often but it’s kind of noisy.

First time on the grid for this #talcapsleevevest made from boiled wool. I didn’t have enough for the full garment, so cropped it, left the cuffs off and used the scraps to appliqué a skull and cross bones on the back -as you do.
Pants are the #talwidelegjeans which really need their own post because jeans making is so much fun, but gosh it’s been a journey… onwards and upwards!

Melbourne weather is nuts this time of year. We’ve had torrential rain, the heaters are on and I can hardly feel my fingers. Last week it was light linen and no shoes…

Where did today even go?
This #stokxpatterns Eve shirt never made it on the grid back in January but has had plenty of wear. This one is in a divine Indian block print from merchant & mills, and is super soft to wear.
Skirt is the #morningtonskirt by @inthefolds in a washed denim. I made this one last year when it was only available to subscribers, but you can now get yourself a copy of this pattern and it’s a good one!
