It's been a minute since we arrived home from BrickFair PA, but now that we got our sea legs back - it was a great honor to have the "Fix-a-Brick: Brick Repair Shop" take home a Brickee Award for Most Clever! Like every show we've been to we didn't take a ton of photos (gotta work on that), but we did have lots of fun, made a bunch of new friends, and saw some amazing MOCs. Thanks so much to our fellow AFOLs who supported my build!

Our LUG had a seed part challenge last meeting using the popcorn/ice cream scoop piece. This is Danielle's build - she started off with one flower, but decided it needed more! We'll share Rob's build soon 😄.
LUG challenges are such a great way to get inspired to build, and it's always so fun to see what the other members create!

Hi folks, Danielle here! I know, it's been a really long time since I last popped in. Last year I started a new job that has been really rewarding and super meaningful for me, at a small woman-owned and run native plant nursery. I really threw myself into it - I mean, if you've seen the leaves in my sigfig's hair you know I love the natural world!
My job inspired my most recent build that connects two of my passions. I love talking about native plant gardening, and being able to bring that into the LEGO world has been so fun! I wasn't sure how my build would be received at shows, but so far it's been fantastic to get to connect with folks about it and teach folks a little bit about how important native plants are. I was so shocked (and overjoyed) to win Best Small Building at Brick Convention Rhode Island this spring!
My build includes all aspects of daily work at a nursery - growing the plants in the greenhouse, watering, pruning, and of course there's lots of pollinators and wildlife all around. I recreated some actual native plants on a minifigure scale to fill the nursery floor, and I'll show them in more detail in a future post!
