@stcdance_ TRANSCENDENCE Spring 2026….feeling so grateful it is a true honor to be a guest artist in el magic valle de Tejas…….as a native of Donna, Texas coming home to the Rio Grande Valley makes my heart so happy. Two premieres.
Two different parts of Texas.
One beautiful week for dance.
After a long drive across Texas, it hit me how special this moment is & how grateful I am to have two choreographic works premiering in the same week in opposite parts of Texas.
In Denton, “Selena Forever - A Tribute in Dance and Song” (featuring live vocals by Brittany Padilla) premieres @twudance . And although I can’t physically be there, my spirit absolutely is.
Meanwhile, I’m in residency in McAllen @stcdance_ , premiering “Between Suns: Echoes of Teotihuacán,” a work that lives somewhere between memory, movement, and time.
If you’re in North Texas or the Rio Grande Valley, you have two chances this weekend to come out and support dance, culture, and the arts!
Your presence means so much. ❤️
Celebrating these moments, these communities, and the power of dance to connect us across distance.
Honored to present “Choreographic Movidas as Embodied, Danced Resistencia” with brilliant colleagues Kiri Avelar and Roxanne Gray at the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies National Conference in San Antonio. @naccsorg
Through pláticas, storytelling, and movement, we reflected on the movidas that shape how we create, teach, and build community as Chicana dance artists.
What made this even more special is that my mom—who was born into working the fields as a migrant farm worker and later transitioned into a career in government—officially retired this week and was able to join us in San Antonio for this moment. 🤍
Shout out to Roxanne’s mom for being there with us too!

5.5 years of research, making, and movement as an Assistant Professor at @twudance
This reel presents a representative sample of my choreographic and research-based creative work developed during this period. Working with TWU Dance students has been a true dream—their artistry, commitment, and curiosity are central to the development of this work. Collaboration with professional dance artists beyond TWU Dance has also been integral, contributing to the depth and rigor of this creative research.
This body of work reflects an ongoing inquiry into dance, borderlands, migration, memory, and Latinx diasporic practices, shaped through research, artistic process, and collaboration.
With deep gratitude to the students, photographers, videographers, musicians, composers, lighting designers, and performing artists who contributed to this work. This journey is collective. 🤍
