SHE IS ARLINGTON: Meet @alextinyb , co-owner of @m8_dancestudio and founder/director of the @texaslonestars_ , the official dance team for @tx_live
Alex started the Texas Lonestars dance team and her dance studio with the same purpose: to create opportunities for Black and brown women in dance that other spaces weren’t providing.
The Lonestars were built specifically in response to Black and brown women being overlooked by major DFW professional dance organizations. Six years later, the team stands as one of the most deliberate answers to that gap.
That same mission carries into Motiv8ion Dance Studio, where diversity is a core pillar of the business. For its students (age 3+), community impact is prioritized and baked into the program, and training extends beyond competitions, with a big focus on preparing dancers for professional and commercial careers.
A professional dancer since age 16, Alex also serves as an adjunct dance professor at the University of Texas at Arlington and has choreographed for popular recording artists including Daddy Yankee and Tay Money.
For the past 6 years, Alex has been building space for women who were told there wasn’t any, right here in the city. SHE is Arlington ♥️

She may not be my own daughter, but she’s my brother’s little girl, and I would move mountains for all of my brothers’ kids.
Kaelani just turned 6 years old and has been dancing since she was literally 2. No dance studio “made” her , she has always had natural talent, rhythm, and a love for dance.
Five years ago, my best friend and I opened Motiv8ion Dance Studio @m8_dancestudio in DFW, and it has grown into one of the best studios around. Since we haven’t opened an Odessa location yet, I still wanted to make sure she was getting the training Thank You to @hiphopandlettos for helping her get her feet wet into taking classes.
My best friend /business partner @mary_onuoha choreographed this solo for her, and Kaelani drove down from Odessa to Dallas to learn it in just 3 hours. The rest of the process was done through video submissions and hard work from home.
PROUD doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel. The future is so bright for my little niece, and she will continue training with me and Mary every chance she gets. ✨
Most studios don’t even allow dancers her age to compete solos, so seeing her pushed and challenged in this way has been so special. This was already her SECOND solo with Motiv8ion Dance Studio, and we’re only getting started. ❤️

Having you in Ranger School on your birthday was definitely not on my bingo card for this year… but here we are. This life is crazy, unpredictable, and definitely not for weak women that’s for sure.
I’m so proud of you for pushing through Ranger School and continuing to be the amazing man that you are. You are one of the most determined, high-speed, intelligent men I know, and no matter what, I always feel safe with you.
Watching you chase every goal head-on inspires me every single day. Even from miles away, I hope today reminds you how loved, respected, and appreciated you are.

What a woman.
She’s truly the definition of “TNT comes in small packages.” I knew she was a dancer… I didn’t realize she was THE dancer.
What makes her even more remarkable is that she’s dedicated her life to educating, leading, and pouring into women who share the same passion she does. She has created space for women and young girls in Arlington, Texas to chase their dreams through movement, discipline, and expression.
The first time I met her, she was quiet. Soft-spoken. Peaceful. There was a stillness about her that instantly felt grounding.
Which honestly shocked me after seeing her dance.
Watching her perform is like watching a completely different force take over the room. She moves with command, grace, precision, and power all at once. A live wire on the dance floor — yet somehow making it all look effortless.
And I understand now why she’s become a mentor, a leader, and the architect of something bigger than herself.
Hard work. Discipline. Respect for others. A genuine love for her team. A passion for pushing people toward their full potential while still making them feel seen in the process.
Women like her don’t just teach movement.
They inspire transformation.
