some people We've been gathering this winter, we called it Making a Clearing. A lot happens when you make some space. And Chillee Noir @photoswithnoir took some photos of us looking epic. Wales' Global Majority Dance Artists. Some things, dancing, listening, chatting, discussing, flagging, jumping, body-popping, grooving, stomping, jumping again, connecting, inspiring, supporting, mapping, planning, pointing, learning, leading...being in the same room. Taking our time... Also, Thanks to all and those who joined us for our online session from England and Ireland, so appreciated, generosity from all directions. Collective working is complex but how come this seems so simple, everyone's dance backgrounds, heritages and agendas are so different but something unspoken, some kind of knowledge and or acceptance holds us together gently and productively. This work doesn't feel like work, it feels genuinely unproductive. Yet is is. @walesmillenniumcentre @chapterartscentre @celfcymruarts

Announcement Jo and Sonia are returning to Neither Here Nor There this year, its a big deal for us, the performance itself was created at a time when the UK was polarised, people had stopped listening to one another and again here we are in a moment of divide, incomers, migration, even farming is divided, Agri - large scale or organic, wild places, wild LIFE or none... climate, community... When I look out my window everything looks fine, is it just me or is this global undercurrent that seems to be in more than stealth mode, real? We're hoping to get a flurry of venues this summer, on the cards are Wales venues, @theplacenewport , @hopkinstown Community Hall in Pontypridd The big news is we will be at @bapamarante in Portugal in August presenting 28th-30th Aug 2026 At the Youth and Culture House of Amarante It's exciting

Butterfly Soup 9 February, 7.30–9pm At Ardour Academy Creative, queer, and D/deaf friendly. With Jo Fong (she/her) How do bodies need simply “to do”? This session explores presence as a tool and a space to imagine. The dance exists before it happens. Enter. Begin. Eyes closed. There is no producing, no product. A letting go of responsibility, of striving or searching. Listening not with the eyes, but with the body. Butterfly Soup is a welcoming space for the LGBTQIA+ and D/deaf communities and allies. Supported by Arts Council of Wales. 🦋 Butterfly Soup 9 Chwefror, 7.30–9pm Yn Ardour Academy Creadigol, queer, ac yn gyfeillgar i’r cymunedau Byddar a D/deaf. Gyda Jo Fong (hi/ei) Sut mae cyrff angen bod yn syml “gwneud”? Sesiwn sy’n archwilio presenoldeb fel offeryn ac fel gofod i ddychmygu. Mae’r ddawns yn bodoli cyn iddi ddigwydd. Mynd i mewn. Dechrau. Llygaid ar gau. Does dim cynhyrchu, dim cynnyrch penodol. Rhyddhau cyfrifoldeb, peidio ag ymdrechu na chwilio. Gwrando nid gyda’r llygaid, ond gyda’r corff. Mae Butterfly Soup yn ofod croesawgar i’r cymunedau LGBTQIA+ a Byddar/D/deaf a chynghreiriaid. Gyda chefnogaeth Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru. #ButterflySoup #QueerCreativity #DeafFriendly #BSLAccessible #LGBTQCardiff #InclusiveArts #CreativeCommunity #MovementPractice #SomaticMovement #PresenceInPractice #ArtsInWales #ArtsCouncilWales #CardiffEvents #CreativeWellbeing #CommunityCare
