A rare mix from a notoriously absent presence.⁠ Virtual 42 is always offline. Years spent digging for tracks alone in a small town eradicated any desire to ’please the dance floor‘. Instead, he learned to weaponise that isolation, hurling unprocessed, neurotic sounds straight at the speakers and letting chaos do the world-building. This mix is the culmination of his year-long journey as a DJ and a tribute to the raw, violent energy of the golden era of the deconstructed club. It reaches back to a time before the term existed, when the most adventurous selectors were freely stitching together sounds that were never meant to coexist.
