Wow, what a day The launch of Women in FMB was nothing short of incredible, an inspiring space filled with powerful women supporting each other through the highs and lows of running construction businesses and stepping confidently into leadership. Sitting around that table, I was truly moved by the strength, resilience, and honesty shared by everyone in the room. These are the moments that remind you how important community really is. Our discussions were beautifully facilitated by the amazing Nicky Thackray from The Power Within. It was such a dream to finally meet Nicky in person and experience her passion firsthand. During my time working with her, she challenged my mindset and introduced me to the power of motivational intelligence, something that has genuinely transformed so much for me. A huge thank you to Nicola De Sousa for organising such a thoughtful and empowering day, and for always listening and showing up for your members. Here’s to more spaces like this, where women lift each other up and lead the way

Before we started this chimney was in very poor condition. The stack had previously been pointed in hard cement which had trapped moisture in the brickwork. The joints had failed, vegetation had taken hold and several bricks had started to deteriorate. The first step was to carefully rake out all the existing cement mortar without damaging the surrounding bricks. Once the joints were cleaned out we removed the vegetation, assessed the brickwork and replaced any bricks that had deteriorated beyond repair. The chimney pots were then removed so the flaunching could be properly checked and they were re-bedded securely. Once the stack was fully prepared we repointed the entire chimney using traditional breathable lime mortar. Lime allows moisture to evaporate naturally from the masonry, which is essential for older brickwork and helps prevent long term damage. Taking the time to use the correct materials and methods ensures the chimney can breathe, remain structurally sound and last for many decades to come. #limepointing #chimneyrepair #heritagebuilding #periodproperty #limebrickwork

Behind the Build: How We Transformed Our Process Really proud to share that Dan recently featured on the Bust and Beyond podcast with Robin Hayhurst, discussing the impact of the 12-month business development course we’ve been working through together. The podcast wasn’t just about challenges—it was about change. Over the past year, Robin’s mentoring and business coaching have helped transform how we run the business day-to-day. We’ve introduced new structures, improved communication, and built clearer processes that allow projects to run more smoothly from first enquiry through to completion. Most importantly, it’s elevated the client journey throughout the build, giving customers more transparency, confidence, and a better overall experience. This journey has now also been featured in a written piece by Nicola De Sousa on the Federation of Master Builders website, highlighting how Bridge Construction is moving from firefighting to building a sustainable, well-run business with a strong customer focus. A big thank you to Robin for the guidance—this has been a game-changer, and we’re only just getting started. #builtbybridge #bridgeconstruction #clientjourney constructionlife businessgrowth leadership buildersofbritain fmb bustandbeyond businesscoaching professionalconstruction
