Dear sewing friends 🤍 I realised the other day that I share so much of my sewing but not much about me — so here’s a little photo collage introduction. I’m Lisa, sewing away in the Scottish Highlands. I came to sewing during Covid and it’s just quietly become one of the most important parts of my life. I love sharing what I make, what inspires me, and little bits of the beauty of the land & life up here. But honestly, my favourite thing about being here is the connections. Taking time to comment, to celebrate what everyone is making, to be inspired by each other — that’s what keeps me coming back. If you’re new, I’d love to meet you 🤍 And if you’ve been here a while — thank you, genuinely 🙏 #sewersgonnasew #sewistsofinstagram #lamazimakers #creativelife #sewingcommunity

Day 16 #MeMadeMay and today I’m in one of my favourites — a faux wrap shirt dress in the most joyful Wild Swimming print from Lady McElroy. Pattern is #b5030 and it genuinely makes me happy every time I wear it. Leaned into the aqua vibes hard today with turquoise leggings, shoes, and cardigan. Basically dressed like I want to be in the water rather than just wearing it 🏊‍♀️ #MeMadeMay2026 #LadyMcElroy

Me Made May Day 15 in London with my older son, and we went to see Hamilton — I can see why everyone raves about it now, the energy and music were incredible and we both loved it. I wore my Duchess Jacket by @ellieandmac_patterns in this beautiful wave gradient fabric from @minervadotcom , and underneath was the Mini Ramona skirt in Rifle Paper Co. fabric. #MeMadeMay #MeMadeMay2026 #Sewing #HandmadeWardrobe #Memade

Me-made May Day 13 🐆 Wearing the #OverallSophie by @primarimma_patterns — I absolutely love this jumpsuit with its leopards, lilies, and birds of paradise flowers in a dark green and peach colour palette. I’m pairing it with a grey long-sleeved top because it’s definitely not warm enough for sleeveless styles here in Scotland yet… and yellow ankle boots for a little extra sunshine ☀️ #MeMadeMay #sewingismytherapy✂️ #HandmadeWardrobe #stylinginspiration

Me Made May Day 12 🌧️ Today I’m wearing a me-made Belgravia Dress by @lieslandco in an organic cotton French terry. It’s such a warm cosy dress for a cold rainy day here in Scotland — comfortable enough to wrap up in, but I still feel smart and put together. I’ve paired it with knee-high socks, tall black boots, and a long Aran wool jumper for extra warmth. #memademay #memadeMay2026 #stylingvideo #belgralviadress #lieslandco

Me Made May Day 10 🩵🩷💚 Wearing my quilt-square patchwork dress today! The bodice follows the #M7974 pattern, with a self-designed fully lined skirt made from different quilt square designs, all finished with tiny ceramic flower buttons in a mix of colours. I’ve paired it with my handmade merino wool cardigan — the Pearl pattern by Tilly and the Buttons — along with handmade earrings created from the fabric scraps, a handmade necklace, teal tights, and teal ankle boots. I absolutely love wearing this outfit — it feels colourful, & creative. #Memademay #memademay2026 #patchworkdress #handmadeclothes

As soon as I saw this pattern released, I bought it straight away. I’m always drawn to designs that teach me something new, and this blouse uses bias binding to divide the panels — my first time trying this technique. It definitely needed careful stitching, but I love the finished effect. I chose this gorgeous Melba fabric from the Leesa Chandler collection because I just loved the design of the large bands of thistles, flowers, and art nouveau inspired swirls across the fabric. The fabric was made in Japan and has delicate silver foiling running through it, which catches the light beautifully. It was really fun playing with pattern placement on each panel. I didn’t have enough Fabric to make it completely the same on the sleeves or the back, but I still really love it. I’m wearing the #soinomidress from Sew Over It London with The Pearl Cardigan by Tilly and the Buttons. Finished with leopard leggings and handmade leopard earrings made from shrink plastic. #memademay2026 #stylinginspiration #sewistsofinstagram #sewfabulous

For day seven of Me Made May I’m wearing my desert shirt dress made using the Kelly Shirt Dress pattern from ForgetMeNot Patterns in Liberty Tana Lawn. I’m a big fan of shirt dresses and I’m always on the lookout for new versions, and this one has such lovely details. I especially like the ruffle on the front and back of the dress. I also made matching earrings from the fabric scraps, one of my favourite ways to use up little leftovers. I’m pairing it with a V-neck cardigan, and I like how the ruffles peek out from underneath the knit. #memademay2026 #sewingcommunity #sewersgonnasew #sewingismytherapy #stylingvideo

Me-Made May, Day 6 This is one of my favourite outfits it just feels so easy, fun, and full of colour. I wear it all the time. I’m a big fan of a folk art print, and this might be my all-time favourite. It’s organic cotton jersey, made into the Coco dress by Tilly and the Buttons. I’ve paired it with a jumper I picked up from Joe Browns a few years ago, with a matching floral embroidery. Finished off with velvet shoes in a floral print. Have a great day! #memademay2026 #folkartfashion #stylingideas #sewcute #isewmyownclothes

I’m wearing a brand new make today for Me Made May Day 5: the Aalto sweatshirt by @namedclothing in a tiger print blue French terry from @gridfabrics with pink sweat fabric. I was really drawn to the feminine shape of the bodice and thought it would be a perfect opportunity to play with some colour blocking. It’s quite an oversized pattern, and that’s not usually my thing, so I sized down quite a bit—and I’m so glad I did. I love the overall effect—fun, easy, and very wearable. And because it’s “summer” in Scotland… it’s freezing again 😄 so I’m fully layering it up. Underneath I’ve got my Norma blouse in a Doops Designs fabric that I absolutely love, plus a quilted jacket from the @itchtostitch book Sew Beautiful, and my @truebias Zoey Tank in organic cotton jersey with an origami print. For this reel I tried out that “pull shirt” video effect and it definitely had me laughing while filming it! What do you think does the effect work? #MeMadeMay #SewingLife #handmadewardrobe #memademay2026
