Lower your frustration with elastic flipping or shredding while pulling it through a casing by:
1. Cutting the elastic an inch longer then folding and tacking down the end.
2. Taping your a safety pin closed before pulling the elastic through.
3. Then, snip off that folded bit and sew the clean edges together.

❓Do you like to baste?
Evans suggests basting whenever you can for better aligned seams and easier sewing. (If you aren't familiar with what basting means - it's when you first sew an area with a long stitch that's easy to remove later. Usually, you will then sew the basted area into place).
I admit I used to not like to baste because it just felt like an extra step. And sometimes that's true, that you don't need to baste. But other times it's helpful or even necessary to get a good result.
