2025.02.13 Doha in Qatar. 1950년대 클래식 영화의 우아함과 극장의 화려함을 담아낸 특별한 순간. 마치 시간이 멈춘 듯한 환상적인 무대 위에서, 모든 디테일이 완벽한 조화를 이루며 펼쳐졌다. 이 꿈같은 장면을 상상하고 실현시킨 @tonymarklew @thelabelbyk 의 탁월한 비전과 신뢰에 깊이 감동했다. 그의 독보적인 상상력은 언제나 새로운 마법을 탄생시킨다. 매번 도하에서 열리는 이 화려한 행사에 플로리스트로 참여할 수 있다는 것은 큰 기쁨이자 영광이다. 이 결혼식은 발을 디딘 순간, 현실과 환상의 경계가 흐려지는 듯했다. 빛과 색감이 어우러져 탄생한 풍경은 그야말로 눈부신 마법 같았다. 황홀한 분위기, 우아한 색채, 그리고 시대를 초월한 아름다움…그 모든 것이 완벽하게 어우러진 잊지 못할 순간. 이런 예술적 여정에 동참할 수 있어 진심으로 행복했다. . . . A special moment inspired by the elegance of 1950s classic films and the glamour of the theatre. The space felt like time had stopped, with every detail coming together beautifully. I’m always amazed by @tonymarklew @thelabelbyk ’s amazing vision and the trust he places in others to bring his ideas to life. His unique creativity never fails to create something magical. Being part of this spectacular event in Doha each time feels like a dream come true. The moment I stepped into this wedding, it felt like I was walking into a fairytale. The soft lighting, rich colours, and every tiny detail worked together perfectly to create a magical world. A stunning atmosphere, elegant shades, and timeless beauty… All of it came together to create a moment I’ll never forget. I’m so grateful to have been part of this creative journey.

. . 작년 이맘때쯤 나는 대부분의 시간을 영국과 이탈리아에서 보내며 꽃일에 빠져 지냈다. 올해는 한국에서 소소하게 내가 좋아하는 일을 찾아 하고 있지만, 오늘따라 그때의 행복했던 순간들이 그리워진다. 일이 마치 여행처럼 느껴졌던 그 시절…. . . 작년 대부분의 시간을 보냈던 @allforlovelondon 의 멋진 영상 공유해요. . . Around this time last year, I spent most of my days in the UK and Italy, deeply immersed in working with flowers. This year, while I'm back in Korea, doing small things I love, I find myself missing those happy moments today. It was a time when work felt like a journey. 지금은 한국에서 지내고 있지만, 토니의 배려로 1년에 한두 번 카타르에서 열리는 이벤트에서 플로리스트 팀으로 참여하고 있다. 카타르에는 행사를 기획하는 이벤트 회사와 프로덕션 팀이 있는데, 이 이벤트 회사는 토니와 함께 전반적인 행사를 구상하며 상상 속 아이디어를 현실로 펼쳐낸다. 토니는 영국에서 활동을 하기에 늘 함께 손발을 맞춘 프리랜서 플로리스트 팀을 카타르에 합류시킨다. 행사 규모에 따라 작게는 5명, 많게는 15명의 팀원이 영국에서 그리고 나는 한국에서 합류하고, 현지에서는 로컬 플로리스트 20여 명이 함께 작업을 한다. 사진이나 영상으로만 봤을 때 이미 완성된 공간에 꽃 장식을 더하는 작업이라고 생각할것이다. 하지만 이 웨딩은 단순한 장식 이상의 과정이 있다. 행사가 열린 호텔의 연회장은 처음엔 텅 빈 공간에서 시작된다. 그곳에 우드 프레임을 세우고, 공간을 나누어, 핑크빛과 레드빛의 벽을 벨벳 천으로 감싸며, 단순할 수 있는 벽에는 수천 송이의 장미와 과일 패턴을 더했다. 그 패턴은 3D 프린터로 형태를 만들고 석고를 덮은 후, 하나하나 손으로 붙이는 정교한 작업이었다. 영국에서 비행기로 공수한 샹들리에부터 케이크, 그작업을 맡은 영국 팀들, 그리고 오직 이 웨딩을 위해 맞춤 제작된 가구와 테이블까지… 이곳에서만 가능한, 정말 특별한 경험. 그리고 일이 끝난 후에는 파티에 초대되는 영광까지.. 무에서 유를 창조한다는 건 단순히 공간을 채우는 일이 아니라, 상상 속에만 있던 장면을 현실로 만들어내는 놀라운 경험이다. 특별한 여행을 한 기분이다. 그 과정에서 느낀 감동과 경이로움은 오래도록 마음에 남는다. 그런 경험을 선물해 주는 @tonymarklew 에게 항상 감사하게 생각한다.

1년 반 만에 다시 찾은 런던. 여전히 다채롭고, 새로운 일들로 가득하다. 플로리스트로서 이렇게 다양한 현장에서 폭넓은 경험을 할 수 있는 환경은, 런던만 한 곳이 없는 것 같다. 체력이 버텨준다면, 앞으로 10년 정도는 이렇게 한국과 영국을 오가며 계속 일할 수 있을 텐데… 버텨주려나? 🤣🤣🤣 . . . Back in London after a year and a half. It’s still as diverse as ever, full of new things. As a florist, there’s nowhere quite like London for being able to work across so many different settings and experiences. . . If my energy holds up, I could keep working between Korea and the UK like this for another ten years… I wonder if it’ll hold up.🤣🤣🤣

이번 프로젝트의 꽃은 모시 원단을 재료로 제작되었습니다. 모시 원단은 자연에서 온 섬유로, 환경에 부담을 덜 주고 시간이 지나면 다시 자연으로 돌아가는 소재입니다. 핸드로포닉스는 이 소재 위에 손의 시간을 더해 하나의 꽃으로 완성했습니다. 이 소재가 공간 속에서 구현될 수 있도록 공간 연출을 기획해주신 @atelier_j.atelier_j 조소영 실장님께 깊이 감사드립니다. . . For this project, the flowers were made using ramie fabric as the material. Ramie is a natural fiber, gentle on the environment and able to return to nature over time. At Handroponics, this material is shaped by hand, becoming a single flower through time and care. Special thanks to @atelier_j.atelier_j Director Soyoung Cho for creating the spatial design that made it possible to use this material within the space.
