I want to share just a small collection of nails I’ve made for other ppl in the past months. Thankyou so much for the trust of those who have given me your nails to work on! It’s been incredibly helpful & you’ve played a part in my nail journey. I have more styles & designs & im continually learning. I’ve completed a nail educational program & have taken other nail courses to supplement my knowledge. I hope to be able to work in a salon in the coming months, but Ive encountered a lot of resistance despite my training & education. I don’t know why that is, I hope that someone will give me a chance to work in their salon at some point in the future. Until then, I’m always looking for hand models to practice on & I offer my services from my home studio. Payment can be flexible or in the form of an exchange. They share the night with Adriana Gheorghe. This Saturday, we start at 7:30 PM! 'There are things that find their place & also places that find their things. <<Salat and I>> places my experiences of gaining permanent residency through the integration & migration bureaucracy of Austria, alongside my collaborative efforts to be guided by a dog called Salat. A dog collar, like the saddle or the leash or the reins or the cage acts as assimilation (for those outside) into our human made social system. For those outside of bureaucratic legislations whether that be the non-human companion or third country nationals, gaining the security of society requires subservience. The act of omission is an act of willingness to obey unquestionably. But yet, I have instincts. Hardlined emotional responses where questions don’t exist. I don’t ask for permission to chase the squirrel, I chase the squirrel and realize my surroundings afterwards. My task is to learn the paths that allow one to linger & trace their routes from these two places: to be feral & to wear the collar.' (A.B.) 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗕𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘆 is a UK-born performer and dancer based in Vienna. Their artistic position is to suggest an understanding of movement guided by animals as an ancient technology oriented toward co-evolution. They’ve spent time thinking & performing for interspecies audiences & look to the transformational quality of performance as a sustainable measure of reciprocity between human and the non-human animals that we share our societies with. I’ve been debating whether or not to share this. It’s been so long since I’ve used this platform & the last time I used it (in a way) i misused it. I have made what I consider to be my 1st solo at almost 38 y/o. It’s on Thursday 8th & Friday 9th May @brut_wien upstairs in the studio of Brut Nord West. It’s free, you need just register on the Brut website or if there isn’t space then PM me & I can add u to the list. Everything has been very hastily brought together, which is fine tbh. It was a performance that was intended to be me & Salat but sadly Salat won’t be present & it will be me, which will be enough. Hopefully it’s possible to show this again, sometime in the future with Salat also with me. Performer and dancer Alex Bailey @flexabailey (UK/Vienna) comes back to Bucharest to open Sublunar Tuesday at Theatres with an artist talk for humans and dogs. Sublunar Tuesday, a recurrent performative format, is being given time and space every Tuesday of October, with an opening act on September 17th, at 6pm. Alex Bailey’s artistic position is to suggest an understanding of movement guided by animals as an ancient technology oriented toward co-evolution. And this could include the movement of language as well. They’ve spent time thinking & performing for interspecies audiences & look to the transformational quality of performance as a sustainable measure of reciprocity between human and the non-human animals that we share our societies with. In 2014, together with choreographer Krõõt Juurak (Est), they created Performances for Pets. Among other things, they have performed with their young child & co-parent as a non-nuclear family in Codomestication (also at CNDB in 2019). Sublunar (July 15th-Nov 3rd) is a project dedicated to conjuring sensitive encounters and communities by means of a residency program focused on researching and presenting performance, at its margins. Here, landscape (as a mode of representing the invisible) becomes a performative method for understanding, deconditioning and resituating the relations between (human) interiority and the environment. And sometimes nature and the landscape are just your dog, and you can hug it and smell and listen to their teaching very very closely.
