"I made this piece thinking about the plants I take care of. I don't like calling them MY house plants, front stoop or tree-pit flowers, community garden veggies, etc. They do not belong to me. They are of the world. We are in it together. Many come from clippings I find walking or friends. I make sure they have water and sun, but during this homebound time, they have taken care of me, as much as I, of them. The plants are brave. They change every day. Heavy, light, funny, flexible, shape-shifters. I admire them." – Amanda Friedman
