Issue 5 of Fieldfare explores the theme of flourishing. We welcome spring at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, step into the cultivated wild of Petersham Nurseries in Richmond, and reflect on rural life in Panama. We journey across the dunes of Death Valley, visit the quintessential summer destination of Capri, and the Yorkshire coast at Robin Hood’s Bay, before navigating Istanbul with our first Fieldfare Companion Guide to the city. We venture into the Solukhumbu region of Nepal in search of sacred landscapes, find sanctuary on Cape Cod and in Newport, Rhode Island, and revisit childhood memories in North Wales. We meet British artist Sam Scales, uncover a hidden walled garden in Edinburgh, and reflect on loss and legacy in Hong Kong. We contemplate themes of abundance, passage, sanctuary, and renewal. Issue 4 of Fieldfare explores the theme of alchemy. We visit the remote Pater Noster Island on the coast of western Sweden, the bustling medina of Marrakesh, and the sleepy village of Rose in Montenegro. We discover the midwestern charm of The Mill Glen Arbor in Michigan, the breathtaking setting of the Watergate Bay Hotel in Cornwall and take a trip down memory lane in Maui. We explore the floral photography of Brendan Barry and visit the high Victorian interiors of Leighton House and Sambourne House in London. We visit the world’s only fully bespoke maker of handmade globes, Bellerby & Co. Globemakers. We seek inspiration on the Isle of May in Scotland and experience personal transformation during a trip to the San Juans. We contemplate themes of odyssey, atmosphere, artistry and metamorphosis. Issue 2 of Fieldfare explores the idea of transience. We discover the landscapes of West Texas, Spinalonga in Greece and Calabria in Italy. We explore São Lourenço do Barrocal in the Alentejo region of Portugal, Kinloch Lodge on the Isle of Skye and the gardens of Castle Ashby in Northamptonshire. We hear from Afghan women’s footballer Khalida Popal and visit the home of author Ingrid Weir in Hill End, New South Wales. We discover the encaustic art of Shannon Carlson, the lockdown portraits of Roseann Bath and the connection between food and identity in Taiwan with pastry chef and author Ying C. We contemplate themes of explore, impermanence, seek, nurture and connection. Publication date: 19 May 2022
