Our resident myu 無 will start things off with an extended set of folk neoclassical compositions, field recordings, and experimental pieces inspired by musical traditions spanning from the guzheng to the saxophone, followed by live sets from two of our favorite producers: Laenz and Løt.te. Laenz is a mutant dub and bass producer with an angelic voice, and she’s bringing high concept to Fiber, playing a set of improvised electronics in conversation with Alvin Lucier’s work around natural radio and his whistler and sferic compositions. Løt.te, who makes smart and menacing deconstructed industrial, half-time, and jungle-inspired music for his AI–F label with prescient texts that explore technology’s power to corrupt and empower, will play a crystalline live set of his new soundsystem work. Taking us into the early morning hours is Rena Anakwe, with her dancefloor project DJ Lady Lane. It is rooted in our favorite genres of electronic music from the African continent and diaspora, like kuduro, batida, amapiano, and gqom. A sound artist and ambient musician as A Space for Sound, she knows how to use music in almost any setting, so stay late and see where she goes. Fiber brings together music, food, movement, and solidarity at your favorite deep listening space. Inspired by block parties, house parties, and other improvised friends and family celebrations, from the salões de festas of Salvador, Brazil, to the parks and apartments of New York City, we invite our favorite DJs and producers to play personal sets, digging deep into their bags to play music they love that doesn't fit easily in a club setting, letting them move you in expanded ways. There is a 4-point Klipschorn system, in a lovely and comfortable space, and there is a homemade buffet of high-vibrational vegetarian food to keep you fueled throughout the night. Tickets via newsletter only.

Our party this time is going to kick off with a set from @modrums.music , who regularly DJs around town, spinning genres from the 70s through the present, with really deep collections in Salsa, Soukous, Soca, and all sorts of stuff that starts with other letters. @contrafuego___ is the brainchild of Matük and his friends from the NYC Afro-Colombian bullerenge community. Over the course of some ninety minutes these incredible rhythmists are going to bring the song and dance of the Colombian coast and filter them through a barrage of synthesizers for one of the most trance-invoking performances that’s ever happened in the studio, ripping a portal into the ancestral spirit realm. Our closer @__viiaan releases music on some of our favorite labels, and it’s no surprise that her productions are regularly rinsed by a whole squad of left-field festival DJs. Her tracks pull from bass pressure, dub ambience, and polyrhythms that bounce between the carnavals and soundsystems of latin america, 90s breaks, and the records of classic Detroit techno. Viiaan has been deep in the weeds of this weird realm that we like to explore for more than a decade, and we’re excited to share the night together with her. Come early to break bread and feast with us, stay through the Contrafuego trip into the cosmos, then have some late night snacks and dance with us as Viiaan takes us through her world. Special guest @snacc.fairy is back in town to serve some otherworldly snacks on the dance floor! Hey all! We’re back for 2026! This time, we'll be dancing until 2am to welcome the Lunar New Year. Come ready to stay late, freaks and geeks, and you might be greeted with some treats from an all-Asian menu ;). Opening this Vol 15, Fiber resident @_myu.sic will be starting us off with a selection of neoclassical and jazz from New York through Copenhagen through Tokyo and around the world, crossing modern sound design sensibility with acoustic and folk influences. Matthew Cha (@saxmachine1234 ), performer and composer on saxophone and buchla, is gonna run his kit through the Klipschorns for a two-hour live set. Matthew’s driving, frenetic sets take us deep into analog sound married with acoustic power, aka. technojazz. Be ready to tunnel and spin through this alien landscape with wet bass drums, sax dialogue, and bloops and bleeps with the one and only Sax Machine. Taking us through a three hour journey until closing will be @ko_an.music fka Luwan, who will be dialing up the intensity with low-spectrum tectonic frequencies spanning jungle, left-field techno, and electro. With a new name to accompany a new selection focus, kō-an's recent style has focused on kinetic textures that spiral and swerve in a sustained build towards embodied awareness and ecstatic release. We’re excited to welcome them back almost exactly one year since they first played Fiber. We also have the @culturalsolidarity back tabling with us. There will be snacks available post-midnight. Tickets in bio.

My 2-hour mix for @fiber.casa Vol.14 @lightandsounddesign is online (link in bio)! This mix is called “Dortn,” meaning “The Beyond” in Yiddish. It uses the Yiddish folk song “Dortn, dortn, ibern vaserl” as a refrain that repeats over the course of the mix. The song speaks of a distant love “across the water,” and in the mix it serves as a link back to sounds and memories from another time. Yet, the word “dortn” has also been used by radical Yiddish activists to describe the global Yiddish diaspora—spread out across the world yet deeply connected. To them, “dortn” represents a shared sense of being beyond any single Nation State or central authority. It’s through this expansive sense of being, they argue, that we can truly be in solidarity with those around us. In this mix, I use folksongs, instrumental melodies, and interviews from the Yiddish tradition to imagine a world of “dortn”. I invite you to step with me into the beyond. Clips in this post: 1. @isatatjana @estherwratschko “Dortn” with @photay “Derecho” 2. @mollycrabapple and Doodie Ringlebloom discuss the Bund with Maria Spivak’s “Main Character NRG” 3. Leon Schwartz discusses his childhood with @felix_djrum “Creature, Pt. 1” 4. My grandmother, Daisy Berman, discusses her childhood with @natureboyflako “Gelis” 5. The Detroit Escalator Co. “Ghana” with @mrsjynxmusic “Afternoon Sunshine” 6. Leon Ahl’s “Doina” with @yusu_suyu “Futuro” 7. @betaalibraee “Skyla” with @mrsjynxmusic “Afternoon Sunshine” 8. Leon Schwartz “Asher Nosn Lanu” with @big__hands “Part 4” Photo by my dearest @om_being_

Hi, Fiber fam. We’re back in November with a lineup of friends and lovers that we’re really excited about! Starting out the night is @cortexbrane , NYC native and longtime host of Basal Rate on 8 Ball Radio. We’ve shared so many of the best dancefloors with him over the years, and his knowledge of dub, ambient techno, and machine funk is deep and goes through all of the decades. His newer all-vinyl sets are filled with a depth of texture that is going to sound symphonic on the Klipschorns. Next is a live set by — (aka @kate.nph ), who will be premiering two new multimedia live pieces with us. NOTE: there will be wild strobes and flashing lights. Their last piece, as ics, was a profound work on the fragility of our huge mechanical systems, specifically airlines, and the humane response when they fail, as they inevitably do. It was totally engrossing and a meaningful antidote to the helplessness that we’ve been feeling. This performance is going to be mind-blowing as well, assuming it follows their usual thick ghost-in-the-machine electro: bright, loud, pretty, and driving, yet the new work is made with one constraint, it has no "percussion." Bringing us through the night is a b2b from partners @iv_act and @dominikamazurova . Bryce and Dominika have both played some of our favorite Present Sounds at the studio and we’ve seen them play killer dance sets separately, but we’ve never got to see them play together. Bryce’s productions range from haunting, richly-harmonized drones to live inside of, to really left-field and lofi varieties of house music, and he’s played with some of Brooklyn’s best improvisers over the years, and Dominika has cracked open some of our favorite nights at the studio – for instance, with DJ Marcelle and Nono Gigsta – and she’s a sensitive weirdo after our heart that can go in any direction, and they’ve both played spots here with our recent love Nosedrip, so need we say more? Come prepared for a trip. Tickets in bio or /e/fiber-vol-13. Please let us know if you need financial assistance!

We’re back again for October! In respect to Halloween & Samhain and the passing of the autumn equinox that will bathe the entirety of our parties in moonlight for the next 6 months, we’re dialing the thermostat towards the colder aspects of electronics. Opening this round is our resident @_myu.sic , who likes to combine feral energy with driving orchestral movements over industrial and drum and bass percussion. Spanning from the sentimental to the cerebral, @san_huan_ will then play a live set; they exert a dynamic emotional and technical range across their productions and sets that are informed by dub, IDM, techno, and dreampop, weaving recorded sound fragments through voice-like electronic processing to create a mythological language. Closing the night, we have Nguyendows99, a b2b between besties @_n_x_p & @99__ranch . Both nxp & 99 ranch are known for their high-energy post-club sets, captivating us with their unexpected conjunctions of kinetic tracks with serious bass weight from a truly global sound system culture spectrum. We’re happy to have our homies back from @culturalsolidarity , an organization that has been at the forefront of the ongoing Boiler Room boycott, and who support artists and activists facing repression for their artistic, vocal, and demonstrable support for Palestine. Tickets in bio, at /e/fiber-vol-12, or DM us if you'd like to attend but need financial assistance!

One more Fiber of the summer, this time with peak summer produce and NYC’s newly minted sub-tropical vibe still in effect. @aka.fedra and @musicadetensao will go back to back for the first hours of the party, setting the tone with a mix of organic and electronic sounds coming out of the deepest corners of Latin America. @plebeian.biz , whose productions over the past ten years have grown from the deep and psychedelic into more intricate and mindblowing territory, is blessing us with a rare appearance: a live set, a conjuring of his powers to build crystalline polyrhythmic soundscape with dubby swells that will engulf you across all frequencies to make us move. Brooklyn’s favorite bassbin activator, @e_sobolik is coming in after to take the helm for the later hours of the party. Their sets generally contain some of the largest vocabulary of global soundsystem language out there, which you can see sprinkled across the hi-fidelity bass music of their eclectic back catalogue of releases that we’ve long been bumping. We’re happy to have some people tabling with us who are doing real work against the cruel scum in our immigration dept: Liberty City (Venmo libertycity) is a daily space for people to collaborate and organize systems of support and mutual aid for our compas (folks going through the immigration courts & seeking asylum), and to fight back against the Trump mass disappearance machine. Tickets in bio or at /e/fiber-vol-11. Please DM us if you need financial assistance!

For our August Fiber, we’ve nearly split the night into two sets of b2b partners with really funky synergies. We were so impressed by the b2b that @aele___ and @como.se.dj played at the last Dripping club night at Nowadays – dubby, mysterious, sexy, full of a patient tension as if they could do this all night – that we wanted to hear it again, on the scale of Fiber, in this space with our favorite freaks. We also invited @laenzzz and @ongbrand to play together for the first half of the night, two producers whose particularly high-concept bassy abstract music has been rinsed at multiple Fibers over the past year. It’s gonna be a twisty night so come early to eat and for the tea, and then get weird with us. Fiber brings together music, food, movement, and solidarity at your favorite deep listening space. Our May party is a collaboration with PTP, one of the best incubators of NYC’s underground edges since 2009, a label and multimedia platform informed by the various new music genres of hip hop, noise, metal, club music, bedroom pop, and every release tends to draw from a combination of all of this. PTP truly embodies the experimental and chaotic spirit of the best that this city has to offer. Expect a night of experimental soundscapes that pull from ambient, deconstructed club, field recordings, folk, industrial, jazz, ritual music, poetry, techno, torch songs, and trap. We’re gonna make the studio as comfortable as possible, and make a big spread of plant-based food so that you can really go auditory traveling. DJ sets from Fiber residents fuge and Myu will bookend a night of live sets by PTP crew members KING VISION ULTRA, subt.le, Swaya, and a hybrid set by FAUZIA, in from the UK. The NY Cultural Solidarity Project will be tabling and speaking with us. tickets at /e/fiber-vol-8 or in bio. reach out if you need financial assistance!
