Sometimes audiences at contemporary dance shows get caught up asking: what does it mean?
At It’s Alive, the answer might be simpler.
Jazz musicians improvise.
Dancers respond.
Prompts come from a bag.
Some performers have never even met before.
Maybe that’s the message.
With just the tools we have; our bodies, our minds, we respond to the world around us and create something beautiful.
Maybe that’s what it means to be alive.

Over the past year and a half I have been really enjoying expanding my knowledge into more academic spaces through my Masters of Environmental Management. To speak about my work and research on arts-based methods for Climate Change Education with my supervisor Tania Leimbach this week at the Conference for Communication and the Environment @the_ieca has been a highlight of that journey. I have had so many wonderful conversations, listened to incredible presentations and gathered many ideas and concepts to follow up and explore moving forward. I am returning to Adelaide tonight feeling very inspired, determined and empowered!

Last month myself and my incredible team wrapped up our third development of Peach Season! I am constantly in awe of the incredible artists I get to work with on this project, and this development was no exception. @sexandthechilli , @bethmoo , @ra_zzle and @jazzy.w.gray gave so much and I am so grateful to them. Likewise was a pleasure to work with @alix_gaga_krueger on the beginning of the score for this work.
I would also like to thank @restless_dance_theatre for having us, the South Australian Government through @carclew for funding and for all the industry professionals who came and gave feedback at our showing.

Hey! I’ve been a little quiet in this online space lately - I’ve been deep in Masters research, teaching, and working on projects in the in between moments.
After a whirlwind few months last weekends little getaway to Sydney was a much needed moment to breath, relax and spend time with friends.
So looking forward to getting back in the studio soon! Updates on that to come!
