Nothing Compares 2 U I’ve debated posting this for a while now, a lot of this time holds many emotions, Ireland to me has always been this way, and perhaps this video demonstrates that perfectly. While this is not my best performance, with technique nor practise. It hold space in a sense of timing, and belonging. I will forever remember this feeling and emotion. When we first started thinking of this piece, we played a lot with the idea of immigration, and what that holds within the body. Moreover, we wanted the general public to feel something, combining these two concepts on an international stage, was challenging, but with the shift of life this piece took on a whole new feeling. And so here it is. Grateful to be able to showcase dance even when rough around the edges. And to give my thank you, and find peace. Had a beautiful opportunity to visit The David Roche Gallery as the South Australia Rose Of Tralee 2025 this week to view their new exhibition Dancer. Drawn from the national portrait Gallery collection and incorporating the work of contemporary photographers, Dancer reflects the freedom and joy of dance and its power to connect ! It was so lovely getting to meet Miriam Laurovics, marketing coordinator, and talk all things dance and Rose Of Tralee. A beautiful correlation for Adelaide and Ireland, as David Roche’s grandparents were Irish, and named the house, Fermoy House, after them.
