I'm starting a course in lineage recovery today. There's a generational pattern of secrecy, shame, hiding, hurting that runs deep in my blood. There's also a powerful lineage of healing through song. I'm here to use the one to heal the other. This I know. I'll report back what else I find out.

With so much of my energy going to healing my body this year, my own rhythm of music creation has been slowed down. But music is still front and center in this house! Getting to see @trousdale in Denver with #calindajade and @emarvinriley mere hours before my neck dissection surgery (after singing their songs for years) was such a highlight! This energy has kept me going!

Festivals have been a space of healing for me. Dancing, connecting, loving, exploring all SOMATICALLY to amazing music has been a key piece of my healing journey.

@ssbdfest has been an extra special place of exploration for me. From bringing Cali in for her first festie just for the day when she was only 3, (baby raver!), to letting a lover leash me for the first time 🫣😈, seeing @griz 's last festival set, and watching the musical improv jam in the wee hours, honoring the artist within each of us, and cartwheeling through the rain on day one, accidentally camping next too a bunch of fellow poly people, and doing secret solo nakie yoga, the magic of Same Same But Different is so special and brings about all kinds of adventure!
