Il y a des projets audacieux, et puis il y a des projets fous. Des projets qui marquent une existence et donnent un nouveau rythme à une histoire. Zeus, le cheval métallique de la cérémonie d’ouverture des Jeux, appartient à cette catégorie rare. À l’Atelier blam, nous avons pris tous les risques pour relever ce défi avec fougue et courage. Un défi qui aurait pu être la fin d’une histoire. Il en a été le début. D’ailleurs ce soir-là, ce n’est pas “juste” une sculpture : ce sont deux sculptures qui doivent tenir leur promesse au moment exact où le monde regarde, un cheval et une vasque olympique. Car si le cheval ne galope pas, si la vasque ne s’envole pas, tout s’arrête. L’année 2026 s’ouvre avec l’exposition Zeus au @museeartsetmetiersparis . Au château de Versailles : 2 millions de visiteurs du 24 septembre au 11 janvier 2025. La tournée : plus de 1,2 million de visiteurs comme au @mucem_officiel : 130 000 visiteurs contribuant à battre un record historique de fréquentation. Alejandro González Iñárritu, the Mexican director of Birdman and The Revenant, five-time Academy Award winner, is featured on one of the three covers of Esquire Italia’s special September issue dedicated to cinema, with a deeply personal reflection on time, identity, and the responsibility of staying authentic. Now, @thealejandroinarritu is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Amores Perros, the film that marked his debut and established him on the international stage, with Sueño Perro, an immersive, analog installation hosted by @fondazioneprada in Milan starting September 18. @esquireitalia ESQ: Is cinema still an effective tool? Is it in crisis, or is it simply changing skin?
AGI: Cinema is alive. And it is in constant transformation, with infinite possibilities ahead. But it is certainly true that it is losing its cultural relevance: the excess of images, distributed in every form and on every device, has eroded its meaning. I believe that the great challenge today is precisely this. We are surrounded by a visual banality that has impoverished our way of seeing. But cinema is still a young language, and there are great artists out there who continue to experiment. We just need to learn again how to listen to it and appreciate it, even though the spirit of the times has tainted its perception.
