Stayed at @mcmenaminselkstemple last night. Always love seeing these fun spaces that they create from old abandoned buildings. We found the secret bar and tagged the hallway with some @twainsbrewpub stickers.
Today makes 25 years of being married to @ethanwurtzel . I’m so grateful for the life we have built together. 💜 We celebrated by flying out to Tacoma where @gnome_reeds will graduate from college this weekend.

The choice of Cloud Dancer (white) for the @Pantone 2026 color of the year was a bit “out of touch”, to say the least, given the current state of things in the US. I chose to highlight this by pushing back against the rise of “Christian Nationalism” and how the actions and policies of those who identify as Christians are often in stark contrast to the actual teachings of Jesus which are printed in red in many bibles. These teachings focus on love, compassion and justice for the vulnerable among us.

#NoKings protest 3, 3/28/2026. Ethan and I went to march and join the rally in downtown Decatur today. It was a smallish (~2000+) but mighty and enthusiast crowd! (Atlanta was massive!) I once again received a number of compliments on my protest quilt 💪🏼, which I appreciate and also wish with my whole being that it wasn’t necessary and that I could focus on making pretty things. However, we will keep fighting, keep pushing back, keep making necessary trouble as long as it remains necessary.

#igquiltfest2026day14 ✨Recent Finish ✨ This wasn’t my most recent finish but it was my first finish of 2026. I finished piecing the top on NYE day while on vacation in FL and then brought it home to quilt and bind. I double quilted it to add more texture and color (and also just to try something new!) and I really love how it turned out. The pattern is A Trip Around the Universe by @liftingandstitching and it’s available now!

Day11 cutting station - this station just got a little update today with the peg board on the wall for rulers and such and the hanging of some quilts on the wall. I love it✨
Day12 pressing matters - not a large space but it works. I’ve got a rectangular ironing board topper covered with a wool mat. I love my @olisohome iron and my beautiful clapper by @modern_american_vintage !✨
Day13 WIP organization - I don’t have a lot of WIPs. I tend to start a project and see it through (for the most part) but I tend to use these flat plastic bins to hold the ones I do have. ✨
