Meet Steve, aka Farrug! ⚡️
We’re stoked to welcome Steve Farrugia to the squad! Based in Hudsonville, MI, Steve has been racing for six years, but he’s been on two wheels his entire life.
His favorite discipline? MTB, no question. You’ll find him ripping through Yankee Springs or grinding it out at the @lumberjack100race , his race of choice. Post-race, Steve keeps it simple—anything @blackrocksbrewery will do. And as for a fun fact? Well… he says he’s pretty BASIC (but we’ll let his riding do the talking).

Single Track is where I belong! I love the Yankee Springs trail @michigandnr It’s just an old school trail with a bunch of good climbs and technical terrain. I was fortunate enough to get a 1st in SS speed and 2nd OA. @wmmba_trails Yankee TT is a great way to support the local trails through this fundraising race. Kudos to everyone that lined up to race! 👊👊
Last weekend was Tough Tough Tough… The weather played a 26’ mind game at @barryroubaix1 . I was able to muster up a 3rd place in the 62 mile Single Speed Category! Congrats to all of my teammates and everyone else who toed the line in them 💩conditions! Blackrocks racing 2026! Of course I can’t thank my wonderful wife @emfaye007 enough for all of the time I put into this silly bike game! @freewheelerbikeshop I would NOT have the speed without such amazing support and gear! Cheers to a @blackrocksbrewery beer or 3!

His goal for 2026 says it all: have fun — try to kick ass.
No overthinking, no overcomplicating. Just ride hard and enjoy it.
And if you’ve been around Steve at a race, you know — he’s a fan favorite everywhere he goes. Always bringing energy, always hyping people up, and always sharing the stoke with teammates and anyone else lining up next to him.
That kind of presence matters. And it’s exactly what this team is about.
