Spokesperson and former White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre opened up about growing up as the daughter of Haitian immigrants — carrying a truth she didn’t know how to bring home. Her words remind us that belonging shouldn’t have to be earned in silence.
This is why we show up. For every person who has ever felt unseen in the spaces meant to hold them. LGBTQ+ people deserve to feel safe and supported.

Night at the Pier 🤍
What a night celebrating our community alongside two organizations that have shown up for me and for so many families…for years. @familyequality has spent decades fighting for LGBTQ+ families to be built, recognized, and protected. And @cryobank shows up for this community in a real way — not just sponsoring nights like this, but helping families get started in the first place.
Grateful to host, grateful to partner, grateful to keep doing this work with both of you.
What can I say? A night of magic, purpose, and joy at @familyequality Night at The Pier! Massive congrats to everyone who showed up and showed out including @nph and @dbelicious on receiving the Luminary Award ✨ and Thank you, @thepiersixtycollection for always being our gracious host!0

“Family is everything, we have two fifteen year old kids, they’re high schoolers and when we wanted to have kids we didn’t want to have kids as accessories, we wanted to have kids as family.”
@nph & @dbelicious , recipients of The Luminary Award presented by @eltonjohn & David Furnish, at the @familyequality gala, to @lanajarae with #Queerty.
