For the last four years I’ve done a pepper bucket class in the spring teaching how to grow peppers 🌶️ in buckets for @urbanharveststl . It’s something I love immensely. Since I can’t get my garden rolling this year it felt great to “touch grass” and pass on my knowledge. I’ll be back August 15th with another class (More details to come!) #urbanfarming

And the ladies have arrived… Two days in the coop and then out to free range. 🐓

*Scroll ➡️* In August 2020, during the pandemic, I started building my first chicken coop. At the time, it became more than just a project. After losing my mother in 2018, building the chicken coop and jumping into my gardening journey became part of my healing process during long work from home days and uncertain times. Fast forward to 2026 and today, on Mother’s Day, I finished the new coop at my new house. This one is stronger, better weatherproofed, and even has an automatic door that opens at sunrise and closes at sunset. Today I’ve been thinking a lot about my mother, but also reflecting on everything that’s happened this year. The awards, buying a home, and the community I’ve built over the last few years. Even through grief, life kept growing. And though I miss her every single day, I know somewhere she’s looking down yelling, “That’s my boy. Fuck em up!” That thought gives me peace today. Also… y’all better get ready. The 2027 garden is about to blow your mind 😂 Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there.

Your boy is tired, but the work must go on. Chicken coop number two is underway. Gotta get the birds transferred over to the new digs. This time, though, they’re gonna get an automatic door and they’ll be able to free-range in most of the yard until I set up my new garden area. I still need to add the roofing and do some painting. Also need to add latches and some hardware cloth, but I got a lot of it done yesterday. 🐔🥚🐓

So my gardening bro and DIY Jedi @magnoliaprovisioner embarked on a two day journey to build a privacy fence around my new crib. My first major project for this house. I have never built a fence before, but I learned how it is done by working side-by-side with him to get it complete. Needless to say I’m proud of the work and I look forward to more projects like this. Up next…moving the chickens to the new yard, #diy #homeownershipjourney 🏡

Been tucked away kind of getting my new house together. Have a a cool nook upstairs for my office. So many ideas! And yes my Bird of Paradise is thriving because not only can I grow outdoors but I’m cold with the houseplants 🪴 too! 😂
